  • Ferrara can take his unsolicited moral advice, and shove it most forcefully where the sun don't shine.  He is a blind man, trying to lead other blind men into the pit.  If Alex's comment is evidence, it is working.  Cheers.

In recent days I have become convinced that Catholics are not only justified in voting for the McCain-Palin ticket in November as the lesser of two evils, but that they are morally obliged to do so.

  • BULL!!!

Catholics are not "morally obliged" to vote for anybody or anything.

Oh yes, McCain the crazed warmonger will make an excellent president, ruling the country from an underground bunker while most of the population is dying from the nuclear bombs being dropped by Russia :really-mad2:

    Vote Baldwin-Castle this election!

  • After getting involved in a morally obliged not morally obliged debate with another traditional catholic, I looked around on the internet trying to find something that could clarify what I think.  I am sure that many of you have heard of Dr. Thomas Drolesky - he wrote a couple articles regarding this subject and this election specifically.  He pointed out in one of them that claiming one is "morally obligated to vote for the lesser of two evils" has allowed this country to slowly slip down the slope towards deeper and deeper degradation.  At this point both parties are so corrupt that choosing the one over choosing the other (with or without the lesser pro-abortion stance of McCain and Palin) will not do this country any good.  Not only that but considering the corruption of our current election system voting does not make a difference.  I am not directly quoting Dr. Drolesky of course and I encourage people to read his articles on the subject on christorchaos.com  (see When Lesser is Greater)

  • And note that even though Ferrara gives two reasons why we are all obligated to vote McCain/Palin he really is giving only one. Mrs. Palin.

Obama would have been no less "Antichristian" if McCain had chosen some unexciting male Republican or Democrat apostate. But until Mrs Palin came on the scene Ferrara did not hold us obliged to favor the Arizona senator with our votes.

Ferrara's lines on Mrs. Palin are long on fan magazine effusions. As juxtaposed with his apocalyptic run-down on Obama' failings they are short on logic. We're talking about a VP. About a possible 2012 contender for the White House. That's mighty thin grounds on which to start preaching the moral obligation to vote for McCain in 2008 (Obama's abominations having been deemed insufficient cause). A VP is nothing. Mrs Palin can be expected to change precisely nothing about our present American way of life.

No one is morally obliged to have a dream in which Annie Oakley trades in her gun for Joan of Arc's sword...
