  • A lot of Trump voters were Bernie Sanders supporters. Fiscal populism is a very, very popular way of thinking here. They see that some countries, e.g. Norway who have:

    • Excellent healthcare
    • Free, if not very affordable college
    • A living wage
    • No interventionist policies

And they think: "Why are we not like that?"
Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary...

they should have heard Ralph Peters on Fox earlier... I don't think I have ever heard a better argument against Socialism... The young need to be educated about socialism, which Peters says is very anti-social (words to that effect)

  • I wouldn't consider Sanders a socialist.

Socialism is the abolition of privatization, period. No one worth their salt is advocating for that in American society. If there were a functioning socialist state, someone with his mix of privatization and social democracy would be considered a far-right conservative.

you give the socialist in Congress an inch and they will take a mile... Sanders would probably get to absolute socialism if given half a chance
I doubt America will give him that chance
