Attack a great patriot who is finally standing up to British Imperialism and driving the planters out. Good one.

Some of the best land in Ireland is still occupied by huge planter farms.

I wish our leaders had Robert Mugabe's guts.

Mugabe has seized farms and isntead of looking toward the Taiwan Tiller program as a possiblity, turned the land over to rapists/muderers and by and by, lazy thugs with no farming knowledge....hence wasted farms, no productivity....

Many vocations are coming out of Africa, (Asia too). So, the wheat grows among the cockle, just as Our Lord told us it would.

And the servants said to him: Wilt thou that we go and gather it up? 29 And he said: No, lest perhaps gathering up the cockle, you root up the wheat also together with it. 30 Suffer both to grow until the harvest, and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers: Gather up first the cockle, and bind it into bundles to burn, but the wheat gather ye into my barn.

I was told that the many vocations coming out of Africa are not true callings but that the priesthood is attractive to them because it is a way out of their poverty.

I don't know. However I do believe that often poor people are very devoted and religious people, because they have fewer materialistic distractions than the rich do.

In my limited experience, most Catholic orientals are either very religious or very worldy. I am trying to be the former.

Get rid of that obsession with western civilization and may be many asians will believe in Jesus, being convicted that you want their salvation, not their lands, oil etc.
