    I haven't seen any evidence for that in the reading about him that I've been doing.  Several sources have mentioned him having a connection with Dominicans.  I haven't seen any claims that he is Third Order Dominican, but that seems more likely to me than OD. In my experience Dominicans do not encourage people to get involved with OD.
