  • I love this old show

    it is hilarious

but I wonder if the intent of the producers was to make fun of conservatives.. you know, we who appreciate the 2nd Amendment and other parts of our Constitution.

This show was totally UN-PC.. makes jokes about women and other groups.. probably could not have been produced in this PC centered day and age..

anyway, I am female and the "sexist" (so called) stuff in the show make me LOL, not be "offended" (getting to hate that word)

I  didn't even know about this show until one night I couldn't sleep and turned on the oldies tv station (ME TV). Now i hate to miss it

  • It aired during the Reagan era, so it was probably making fun of the neocon ilk that were big at the time.

  • Typical of other cop sitcoms, death is almost always something not to be taken seriously, it's nearly always something comical.
"But Peter and the apostles answering, said: We ought to obey God, rather than men." - Acts 5:29

The Highest Principle in the Church: "We are first of all under obedience to God, and only then under obedience to man" - Fr. Hesse

i never even suspected they were making fun of conservatives.. just had that thought one day.

again, it seems to actually promote conservativism, or is it just me?

in any case, it's weird i didn't hear about until now. . well, i think one of my friends yrs ago mentioned it but i c an't recall wht she said about it... I think she just said she liked it, but I have never been one to try new things much.. long story why that is, but i won't digress

maybe we didn't hear about BECAUSE it promoted rather than detracted from conservativism. yeh, that sounds about right  :laugh1:

    i dont get this

are you being a little sarcastic or soemthing?

i mean, if so.. all i can say is that comedy is supposed to make us laugh

and this show makes me laugh--a lot

maybe some high brow would question me on that, but oh well.. i never claimed to be a high brow myself.. (despite my VERY, VERY high IQ---LOL... just being obnoxious)

    :ready-to-eat:

actually, now that i think about it, that's probably why i like the show.. becasue some of the dialogue IS a little "high brow" (define that term?)

anyway, too bad it can't be on as often as that ICKY show "Friends" is!! I think that dumb, sex-obsessed show is on  every day (?)
