Russian President Vladimir Putin announced Friday that he would not retaliate against the round of U.S. sanctions imposed by the Obama administration. In a statement, Putin said that while his government denies the accusations made by American intelligence agencies, he would not kick U.S. diplomats out of the country.

“Although we have the right to retaliate, we will not resort to irresponsible ‘kitchen’ diplomacy but will plan our further steps to restore Russian-U.S. relations based on the policies of the Trump administration,” he said. “We will not expel anyone. We will not prevent their families and children from using their traditional leisure sites during the New Year’s holidays. Moreover, I invite all children of U.S. diplomats accredited in Russia to the New Year and Christmas children’s parties in the Kremlin.”

In addition to ordering sanctions, President Obama announced Thursday that 35 Russian diplomats would be escorted out of the country for their role in the alleged hacks.

“All Americans should be alarmed by Russia’s actions,” Obama said. “Such activities have consequences.”

Putin has been known to retaliate when hit by sanctions; the fact that he’s not doing so this time indicates that he is merely waiting for Donald Trump to take office on January 20. Trump has expressed doubts about the hacks and said last week that it was “time for our country to move on to bigger and better things.”

On Friday, Trump praised Putin for his restraint.

“Great move on delay (by V. Putin) — I always knew he was very smart!” Trump tweeted.

Here, Trump is just messing with Obama. The president knows where he stands on this issue. He knows he could have consulted with Trump and come up with a mutually agreed-upon solution here. He knows that Trump wants to pursue a different kind of relationship with Russia than the one he forged. By taking this kind of action, Obama is not only exercising his right as President, he’s deliberately trying to extend his influence into Trump’s tenure.

There’s no particular reason to debate whether or not Russia was really behind the hacks. Without top-secret security clearance, we’re never going to have the information we need to make an informed judgement call. But even if we assume that everything the Obama administration is saying is true, what is the game plan here? For a self-proclaimed man of peace, Obama can’t seem to grasp the wisdom of de-escalating tensions with a nuclear-armed country.

Oh, but Trump is the one we can’t trust with the codes. Okay. Sure.

I agree.

And i find it "interesting" that we have 17 intelligence agencies! I am so cynical of our govt, it's pathetic. I have been following such things as waste in govt.. govt spending millions on... oh, i don't know.. the mating habits of fruit flies was one. I heard of--and no joke, how shrimp do on a treadmill! That is one i know of. There are so many others but they escape me.. need to read Tom Coburn's book again, i guess

and we're supposed 2 believe we need 17 "intelligence" agencies..?

So anyway, i heard that all 17 of them agree we've been hacked by Russia. Well, again, my cynicism comes into play: Aren't most govt agencies run by Democrats? Don't most people who work for them call themselves Dems?

forget it. I am not buying all this nonsense. But I also don't buy it that Putin is being Christian by not retaliating. He is just being Putin... a very dangerous man who has murdered journalists and done other terrible things. He is just trying to use whomever he can 2 get whatever he wants.. I wonder if Trump realizes that? certainly hope so

Arizona Republican congressman Trent Franks recently appeared on MSNBC to talk about the allegations that Russians hacked into the DNC, and released information that effected the election. While many argue over whether there is substantial evidence of this, Franks is looking upon the Russians with favor, saying that in a way they did a job the media wasn’t.

“I’m all for doing what’s necessary to protect the election here, but there’s no suggestion that Russia hacked into our voting systems or anything like that. If anything, whatever they may have done, was to try to use information in a way that may have affected something that they believe was in their best interest.

“But the bottom line, if they succeeded – if Russia succeeded – in giving the American people information that was accurate, then they merely did what the media should have done.

Franks words have created more than a bit of controversy.

Obama has recently taken to punishing the Russians for these alleged hacks by imposing sanctions, and ejecting intelligence agents from the country. President-elect Trump, however, still believes that the Russians had no part in the election whatsoever.

But the Pizza story--that was false, wasn't it? I mean, you know, the part about Hillary? Yeh, had to have been.. otherwise we would have heard more chants to lock her up and etc..

Nope. Pizzagate is 100% a thing as far as I'm concerned. National politics is so insanely corrupt that there's a convincing case.

The liberal media have been playing up a report by the Central Intelligence Agency that hackers aligned with the Russian government had allegedly provided Julian Assange with the hacked emails his website WikiLeaks published during the fall, but a former British ambassador to Uzbekistan is going public again to blow the story out of the water.

“As [WikiLeaks founder] Julian Assange has made crystal clear, the leaks did not come from the Russians,” former Ambassador Craig Murray wrote on his blog Monday morning, adding that he had direct access to the original source. “As I have explained countless times, they are not hacks, they are insider leaks — there is a major difference between the two …

“Now both Julian Assange and I have stated definitively the leak does not come from Russia. Do we credibly have access? Yes, very obviously. Very, very few people can be said to definitely have access to the source of the leak. The people saying it is not Russia are those who do have access.”

Moreover, where the hacks originated had no real bearing on what they had revealed, which was that both the Democrat Party and failed Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton were corrupt.

“(I)f Hillary Clinton had not connived with the DNC to fix the primary schedule to disadvantage Bernie … had not received advance notice of live debate questions to use against Bernie … had not accepted massive donations to the Clinton Foundation and family members in return for foreign policy influence … had not failed to distance herself from some very weird and troubling people,” then perhaps she would have won, Murray added.

It felt as if the lightning-speed spread of this unconfirmed Russian hacker conspiracy among liberal media outlets was therefore nothing more than an attempt by liberal Democrats and their media sycophants to deflect blame for Clinton’s epic loss.

“The Kremlin has rejected the hacking accusations, while the WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has previously said the DNC leaks were not linked to Russia,” The Guardian reported Sunday.

And Murray, who has been vocal before about the claim of Russian involvement, minced no words about where he placed the blame for the latest spin on the election.

“It is terrible that the prime conduit for this paranoid nonsense is a once great newspaper, the Washington Post, which far from investigating executive power, now is a sounding board for totally evidence free anonymous source briefing of utter bull from the executive, he wrote

Editor’s Comment: By hook or by crook, it seems that the Obama Administration and the Deep State powers that run the government are intent on having war with Russia, and with antagonizing Putin in one fashion or another.

As the phony Russian hacking narrative continues to be pushed, a new claim, perhaps dubious, has emerged – from back in October – of the limp-wristed Obama trying to act tough and push issues that aren’t even real. Whether it happened or not, the implication is alarming.

NBC is now reporting that President Obama used the “red phone” for the first time in his entire eight years in the White House to threaten Russian President Vladimir Putin about “messing” with our election.

Calling it a “rare and highly classified event” that occurred just before the vote, NBC claims they “just learned” Obama used the dreaded red phone to call the Kremlin and personally threaten Putin:

At least one of President Obama’s senior advisers urged him to make the ultimate threat to Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. officials told NBC News:

Mess with the vote and we will consider it an act of war.
