Title: Vicksburg remembered

As a Confederate Trad Polish pickle polar bear, today I mark the anniversary of the fall of Vicksburg MS in1863.

From the collective State memory of Grant’s saturation artillery bombing of Vicksburg, I believe Mississippi did not again celebrate the 4th of July until 1964.

BTW, Grant’s nickname from the Battle of Spotsylvania (that Yankee historians don’t mention) was “butcher”.
