Something (couldn’t figure out what) was missing in my understanding of the health care debacle. What was missing—I finally figured out today while watching the news—is (one thing, anyway): transparency.
Get this, all of you who do not watch a lot of news:
Even people in Congress do not know what the latest Republican bill says! Yes, I speak of those who are nevertheless VOTING on it TOMORROW (that is: voting on whether to debate it).
I find myself trusting Rand Paul. He says the Replace part of Replace and R… means big bailouts for insurance companies. I wish Fox would let him explain that one further but he always seems to get shoved aside for some other guest… I tend to understand, but want to understand better. And some don't even begin to understand. We are getting the wool pulled over our eyes, I think.
Fox News… I mean, you know… who knows what agenda any of those who work there has?
But we do know one thing: We know that most people (esp in DC) love $$ and don’t really care how they get wealthy (or get into office--donations from rich corporations [easy to remember since it rhymes).. as long as it is “legal,” and does not look too terribly un-ethical-- which if it is legal, it doesn’t, so they then work to make it legal??
DC has an approval rating of something like 10% and not w/o reason. And those 10% don’t watch DC much.
Anyway, that says about all you need to know about this Repeal and Replace stuff: that even those in Congress, slated to vote on this issue, do not know what is in the bill!!
Haven’t we heard that somewhere before?
Yeh… Ms Catholic-But-Not-Catholic-When-Unborn-Human-Life-Is-In-Danger Peℓσѕι said that same thing---when she wanted to shove Obamacare down our throats: We have to pass the bill to see what’s in it.
Please!
I don’t know about you but I am nearly to the point of .. frightened. “They” are hiding something from us. They are hiding soemthing from our representatives.
And those few Congresspersons who will not join with the Rs to Repeal-only? I think they are in cahoots with the greedy insurance companies and other special interest groups. Did you see Steve Hilton’s show on Sunday? It is obscene how much CEOs in the healthcare field make… while they bilk us “nobodies” out of every freaking cent they can.
What’s interesting is that I already KNEW what Hilton was talking about… it’s just that that information was stuck somehow in my unconscious mind. I guess it was stuck there, virtually inaccessible because... well, you just don’t “want” to believe certain things, esp as concerns this “wonderful” country of ours. And so you kind of allow a fib to live in your subconscious by saying to yourself and say, well, maybe that really isn't true? (or) Maybe it's more complicated than that?
Please!
