I had heard that Vance was a convert to Catholicism but did not really think much of it since that could mean anything these days. He hasn't explicitly identified as an integralist. He calls himself "post-liberal right". But, whatever the label, he is clearly critical of secularism and liberalism and thinks in terms of how to promote virtue. I am pleased to see a person with these views getting into a position of power and influence. Perhaps even the Trump-haters here would consider Vance a "silver lining".

Yes, JD Vance is an incredible Pro Life Catholic. My dream ticket for 2028 would be the two Pro Life Catholics DeSantis/Vance. But Vance would make even a great President some day, perhaps after that. For now, the Trump-Vance administration has won and is doing well and I'm sure Vance will be very influential in the Trump White House.

Vance's wife is Hindu, yes. She is from an Indian background, and most Indians are Hindus. We should pray for them to come to Baptism and Christ. I'm not sure about Vance's children, but Vance himself seems strongly pro life to me.

What I've read indicates that the wife is not a practicing Hindu although her parents are. The Vance's children are being raised Catholic and she was supportive of his conversion to Catholicism.

In what way exactly is his Catholicism different from Biden or Peℓσѕι? The latter two at least put on a public show for media consumption to trick the CINOs. But RFK Jr.? Find us some verifiable sources of his present-day identification with and/or adherence to the Faith.

.As imperfect as Vance's conversion to Catholicism may be, at least it came from an intellectual place, rather than this gushy-gooey-Vatican-Two-ey "because there's so much luv and because these people care so much and are so nice" place from which the neo-modernist change agents want to see converts come.

My own reception into the Church, almost 50 years ago, was on a quiet Sunday afternoon with a few loved ones present, and that was it. I understand that in larger parishes, there may have to be group classes (through which I did not go), but marching the catechumens through all of these "scrutinies" in front of the whole congregation, and sometimes leaving them unbaptized for years while all this plays out, is much an overwrought, sentimentalistic exercise in group dynamics as anything else.

This sounds similar to my experience of RCIA. I was at a notoriously liberal parish and they actually discouraged us from praying the Rosary. That was supposedly an obsolete devotion from a time when many people were illiterate. It took me decades to find traditional Catholicism.
I think my personal background is one reason I find this information about Vance so encouraging. He sounds like he is rooted in the Church's intellectual tradition, even if he has not yet discovered the value of her liturgical tradition. It makes such a good starting place.

Nor is there good reason to assume that JFK is a martyr who is now in heaven. He had to distance himself from Catholic teaching in order to get elected in a country with a lot of anti-Catholic bigotry. He made a famous speech in which he supported religious freedom and separation of Church and state. He made the famous statement: “I am not the Catholic candidate for president,I am the Democratic Party's candidate for president, who happens also to be a Catholic. I do not speak for my church on public matters, and the church does not speak for me.”
Rather than assume he is in heaven, we should pray for his soul which is quite possibly in Purgatory.

With her parents , she is in a tough spot. The religions of India are cults. We know young college girls have considered studying Christianity but the parents forbid it. They come to USA for free college and are going back home.

You're right. That's why I recently started https://reasonstobechristian.com/ website. It's for Catholic evangelism and Christian apologetics. We each should do what we can to promote the Kingship of Christ and win souls for Our Lord.
On Kennedy, ok, maybe I got a little carried away. I do think JFK was martyred, yes. Look it up. He was killed by what the Lord calls the ѕуηαgσgυє of Satan in Rev 2:9 and Rev 3:9. He was martyred for opposition to Israel. That's why it's so dangerous and I think perhaps we don't appreciate sufficiently how dangerous it is for US politicians to speak up against the Israelity lobby/AIPAC etc. Congressman Massie is the only one who has done so so boldly and lived to tell the tale, although there were speculations about his wife's death.
Anyway, still think a Desantis/Vance ticket for 2028 would be excellent. Desantis committed to a 15 week federal ban. Vance was earlier in favor of a complete ban on abortion, but he moderated a little or appeared to or because of Trump and the need to appeal to moderates etc. I still think JD is a solid Catholic. Pray for him. Let's see how it goes.

Victory on the woke trans issue for the first time in living memory. Where oh where are the false prophets of doom naysaying that Trump wouldn't do anything on the trans issue? In context, he was comparing "normal" gαys who just want to be left alone with the transgender movement which promotes the drugging and mutilation of children. He thinks these "normal" gαys do not support the trans nonsense and would be okay with voting for Trump.
This is obviously a debatable view, but I do not think it is fair to call it "accepting sodomy" or take it as a statement that sodomy is normal. It is more that he considers protecting children from the trans movement a higher priority. I haven't seen any evidence for that in the reading about him that I've been doing. Several sources have mentioned him having a connection with Dominicans. I haven't seen any claims that he is Third Order Dominican, but that seems more likely to me than OD. In my experience Dominicans do not encourage people to get involved with OD.
