It was dead in the first place. I have always thought that no one really voted for Trump, they voted against Biden. There was a big anti-incuмbent wave where people voted against the ruling parties last year. 

His actions this month pushed it further and further into the ground. Combine that with the first elections of his term expected to be a disaster for the incuмbent (Mamdani winning the primary in NYC, Spanberger in VA, Sherrill probably keeping NJ blue), and let's put it this way: 

I hope Peter Thiel can find a consulting gig for JD Vance in January of 2029, because he won't be president.
