Read the whole article, excellent, it is all there! I didn't know any of it. No need to waste time, the article is all that I needed to know. Thanks and keep up the good work, that is what CI is all about.
Yes, indeed, it's an excellent article. Its primary virtue may be that it carefully spells out the central defects of Judge Barrett's character, convictions, and track record, defects that
this article from VDARE pointed to fully a month ago. It was on the basis of the VDARE article (I linked to it on an earlier thread) that I became opposed to Barrett, and nothing I have learned since Trump's nomination announcement has made me even a whit more optimistic about how she will act when she gets her seat on the Court.
The bottom line is that she is a self-described Catholic who swears that she will not allow her religion to influence her judgments, and if she fears it inevitably will, she will recuse herself. Not only is this attitude revolting to a true present-day Catholic, but it certainly would have struck George Washington, John Adams, and John Marshall as a mark of either insanity or debilitating moral confusion.
The fact must be recognized that what people call Constitutionalism is utter nonsense. The most that can be said for what is done in the name of the Constitution today is that its Framers would be horrified. In fact, it was never more than a pious fraud, and whatever genuine piety was resident in the Constitution disappeared when in
Marbury v. Madison the Court gave itself carte blanche to decide what was law and what wasn't.
