Trump replaces ‘Happy Holidays’ with ‘Merry Christmas’ on White House Christmas Cards
November 30, 2017

There’s something a little different about this year’s White House Christmas card. President Trump and First Lady Melania made sure to wish everyone “Merry Christmas” this year in a conspicuous departure from the politically correct Obama years.

Merry Christmas!
The White House ditched the politically correct ‘Season’s Greetings’ to put Christ back in Christmas. The card, signed by the President, First Lady, and their ten-year-old son Barron, says simply, “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”

The Obamas used “Happy Holidays” last year in their final White House Christmas card. Twitter erupted with joy at the news that the White House wasn’t afraid to say “Merry Christmas.”

It was all Bah-humbug for conspiracy theorists who suggested the First Lady had been forced to imitate the president’s handwriting. The odd criticism was in keeping with the patronizing tone liberals have adopted when speaking about the First Lady since Trump took office.
Christmas at the White House
The First Lady pulled out all the stops this year to make the White House look like something out of a fairy tale. FLOTUS decorated the White House in a classic style with the theme “Time-Honored Traditions.”
The President, Barron, and I are very excited for our first Christmas in the White House,” the First Lady said in a statement. “As with many families across the country, holiday traditions are very important to us. I hope when visiting the People’s House this year, visitors will get a sense of being home for the holidays.”

A video posted to Melania’s Twitter shows the extent of the sumptuous decorations, which included a beautiful, 300-pound gingerbread White House.

Here, too, critics found something to Grinch about. Melania was roundly mocked by joyless prigs on Twitter who savaged just about everything from the First Lady’s outfit to one particular hallway that some compared to horror movies like The Shining. Others pointed out her rigid pose as she watched a trio of ballerinas perform “The Nutcracker
Suite."
Making Christmas Great Again
Speaking to a crowd at the Value Voters summit in Washington last month, Trump promised to “stop cold the attacks on ʝʊdɛօ-Christian values” and vowed to be a fighter in the War on Christmas:
Quote
“We’re getting near that beautiful Christmas season that people don’t talk about anymore. They don’t use the word Christmas because it’s not politically correct,” he said to cheers. “You go to department stores and they’ll say ‘Happy New Year,’ or they’ll say other things and it’ll be red, they’ll have it painted.”
“Well, guess what? We’re saying ‘Merry Christmas’ again” he concluded.

Trump has repeatedly promised a cultural climate friendlier to “Merry Christmas” than years of political correctness have permitted. For instance, he mentioned at a campaign stop in January 2016 the absence of references to Christmas in department stores.
With this year’s White House Christmas card, Trump seems to have kept his promise.

  • Sadly, the man is totally on the wrong road - but I say God bless our president. The enemies of God and man must be very angry at such a basic thing as that, even though he is on the wrong road. Just knowing it angers them so badly, pleases me.

    wrong road? meaning Hell?
and what has he done to deserve that odd comment?
he is doing about everything a Christian president would do, so what's the problem?

"ʝʊdɛօ-Christian". What a dodge. Sorry, but there 'ain't' no such thing. Unless of course, one embraces the JPII slogan about the Tribe being "our elder brothers in the Faith", 'cause it sure isn't Dem Moozlims. Just in case anyone's interested, Jesus is mentioned more times in the Qur'an than is Mohammed. And there is great reverence shown to the Mother of God as well. So dem Jooz can stick that in their тαℓмυd and smoke it.

"The enemies of God and man must be very angry..." You must mean the Jooz and the atheists which are the same as Jooz.

Yes, he is on the wrong road because he most certainly is on the road to hell - which is certainly the wrong road to be on.

  • 'Happy Holidays' is a useless phrase because most of this country - probably over 90% - celebrates Christmas. We are basically Japan in that regard.
Remember O most gracious Virgin Mary...

"[H]e is doing about everything a Christian president would do..."

A 'Christian president' you say. And how, may I ask did you arrive at that conclusion? Let's see, the chap's been married three times; he supports his daughter becoming a Joo and his son(s) marrying Jooz; plays footsie with the second biggest mass murderer on the planet; is head of the country which is the biggest mass murderer on the planet. Okay, so he says Merry Christmas on his cards. I suppose that's a start, and maybe if we're really fortunate, he won't stick a big, fat, menorah on the Whitehouse lawn.

It's a wee bit of a stretch, but yeah, I guess you could say he's a "christian". Well, sort of; maybe one of those of the "ʝʊdɛօ-Christian" variety, what? 😳

  • .
Well, it's certainly evident that a President who dares to wish Merry Christmas and Happy New Year is going to get criticism from both ends of the political spectrum.
    .
President Trump has a lot of courage.
    .
    God bless him.

  • The Nativity Scene returned to The White House for all to see:

If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.
