Though most Catholics on this forum are against Tɾυmρ, I still am glad that I voted for him in 2016, and 2020. The alternative to Tɾυmρ was, in 2016, the evil Hillary Clinton. It was worth it to vote for Tɾυmρ, just to keep her out of office.
Yes, agreed. Supporting pro-life President Tɾυmρ would have been worth it just to keep pro-aborts Hillary and Bıdɛn out of office. Tɾυmρ was also anti-Communist, worked to help persecuted Christians, praised St. Becket, defended the Religious Liberty of the Catholic Church, had the Ave Maria sung, was the first US President to address the Pro-Life March for Life etc etc etc.
The list of reasons for pro-life Christians to support President Tɾυmρ is nearly endless. He wasn't perfect, but he gave it his best shot. If Tɾυmρ had won, the USA would be much better off, and overturning Roe v Wade would be a real possibility.
It was not to be, but at least so many good Catholics and other Christians prayed and worked and tried their best to attain that goal of ending abortion. We must be prudent and form tactful alliances to win the pro-life fight to end abortion.
Abortion-killing, the worst modern genocidal ɧơƖơcαųst that has resulted in nearly 2 billion innocent children killed worldwide, is important enough to end and fight that sometimes God may use less than perfect people to help end it.
We have to discern His Will, and do as the Good Lord directs us through our Catholic Conscience. President Tɾυmρ appointed 3 pro-life conservative Supreme Court Justices, and 230 pro-life conservative federal judges, and those may still play a role.
He did his best, and would have been vastly superior to the alternatives. In the end, our combined prayers and efforts were not nearly enough, though they are still without doubt taken into account by God and will have their ultimate Reward.
Our Lady has promised us that, in the end, Her Immaculate Heart will Triumph. Legal Abortion was one of those Communist errors of Russia first legalized in the Soviet Union by the Bolsheviks. We have Our Lady's Promise it will end one day.
We just have to keep praying and fighting, and supporting good pro-life leaders who will actually do something to help end it, until that day comes. President Tɾυmρ was one of those leaders, and so the other lesser things are comparatively irrelevant.
That's the proportionality condition in double effect which some misunderstand. Nothing is now so important as ending the genocidal ɧơƖơcαųst of nearly 2 billion innocent children murdered through abortion. Anyone working to end it will be blessed by God.
