    Right, so the 2 that did swear on the Bible didn't really believe in the Bible.  How about the others that refused ... it wasn't because they didn't believe in it (in which case they'd have no issue doing so).  That was my point.  It suggests they actually believe in the Bible.  Even Satanists "believe in" God, the Bible, etc. ... albeit it's obviously not supernatural faith.

    Sorry I missed the humor. We do agree on one thing Lad, which is not caring about what 99% of the world thinks (as in FE theory). Catholics may come to different conclusions, but we share a love of the Truth and the truth.

    • Trump not putting his hand on the Bible might not be anything sinister or have a hidden meaning. Justice Kavanaugh gave Vance’s family time to gather around him before taking the oath.  However, Chief Justice Roberts didn’t wait for Trump’s family; he started the oath too soon.  By the way, Roberts has a history of messing up the oath.  Obama had to retake the oath because Roberts mixed-up the words.

    No worries.  Yeah, I deliberately threw in the :laugh1: to prevent it being misconstrued as serious.  In the joke, I was blending together a lot of talk out there about Trump being an Antichrist (the head wound and all) and people marvelling about Barron's height, to come up with the joke about his being one of the (giant) Nephilim offspring.

    Yeah, as I said, he could have just been distracted or "zoned out" and simply forgotten, though you'd think Melania, whose job it appeared to be to hold the Bible(s) [why two?], might have given him a reminder hint.

    If that were me being sworn in, I would bring a Clemetine Vulgate.  :laugh1:

    ... but then again, I'd have a difficult time swearing (on a Bible or just in general) to uphold this (Masonic) Constituion.
