We need traditional Catholic politicians.
-
Where do you live and what office are you running for?
-
I'm on the east coast. No I'm not running for any office.
In our area the "Catholics" are the problem. They are like Vp Biden.

Maybe you could start a change of direction.

We do have one, Antonin Scalia of the Supreme Court. He might be the actual only Catholic in all of American politics.
That is not to immediately diminish Novus Ordites as non-Catholic. The truth is that so many "Catholic" politicians have traded the faith of their fathers and youth in for votes and saving face in the public circle.

:dancing-banana:
In my area, getting oneself on the ballot as a declared traditional Catholic is financially and politically impossible.

It is not saving face with me when a public servant who identifies himself as Catholic betrays his faith.

You see, poche, the trust that the American public has in electing those of no religion or no belief in God is low. If anything, it's almost non-existent. That's why bastards like Peℓσѕι, Kerry and Biden have to lie about belonging to Catholicism or any religion, for that matter. They would be back in New England working at some paltry law firm if they didn't.

Simply not possible in this country.
Every single Catholic American politician must accept (tacitly if not explicitly) the errors of Religious Liberty and Separation of Church and State.
Traditional Catholicism is wholly incompatible with American governance. The best you can hope for is a "conservative" (like Rick Santorum), which is simply another form of post-Enlightenment liberalism.

The problem is that they got very bad spiritual direction from theologians who betrayed the faith.

the only one I know of offhand that is running in November is
Condit, and he doesn't stand a chance.

Traditional Catholic Politicians--now there's an oxymoron!
