Actually the proportion of Catholics to Protestants in Bavaria is greater than 2:1.

But my point is that in Italy it is proposed to display the Crucifix but in Bavaria the Cross

Protestants accept the Cross but reject the Crucifix. And so we have Bavarian Germans allowing for the cross but not for the Crucifix. Similarly for modern nuns and priests wearing the cross without the Corpus, a sign of encroaching protestantization.
