There's no such thing as a person who "doesn't work"

yeh, get outa here w/ that already

A homeless, jobless person works

he wakes up every morning. If he has ptsd he probably does not want to do that. But he does. He finds a place to wash up (we hope). That is work. It is worry also bc a lot of public places frown on him using the facilities for such.

If he has a car, he probably has to wrok on it himself since he can't afford un-necessary car repairs.

He does all kinds of things that are "work"

I know this one person who is so depressed over losing her job that she is catatonic. I don't know her well but i have heard from someone who does that she just sits and stares... sometimes @ TV.. doesn't talk to anyone, doesn't go anywhere.

But anyone who is alive has to DO stuff.. feed self, etc... or that person would not be alive...

and then there are volunteers who give a lot of their time to some good cause. But bc they are not paid for it, they are said to be not working.

right...

life is such that

EVERYONE works

it is conceivable that a poor person could work more in one day than a non-poor one.. Some jobs are like not even working anyway

2 words to prove it

The energy I expend procrastinating is many times that for any normal work, and far more unpleasant.

If one defines "work" as the daily struggle of the 'human condition'- then I suppose that's true.

In the times of Christendom many forms of work did not require having to go and be employed by a boss in order to do so. You worked for yourself on the land allocated with others and shared your produce with the lord who rules your land or the king for protection. This was called a Distributist economy.
