The reason why the media works with trump is because americans like trump, and will watch the program. In other words, that means he will make them money.

Trump has explained this very thing many times when asked why he's getting offers that he can use to basically garner free advertising.  He says that even when he's asked hardball questions by people who are trying to fight against his popularity and his politically incorrect answers are bewailed by the MSM even to the point where they pronounce that "he has crossed the line this time," but the next day, his poll numbers have gone UP.

The media is therefore circuмvented because their efforts end up hurting themselves, but the media isn't stupid.  If there is money to be made by ratings, they will give Trump face time just to profit from his exposure due to lots of viewers tuning in to see the program.  

The recent Republican debate, hosted by CNN at the Reagan Library was the most watched CNN event in history.  If Trump had not been there, those numbers would never have happened.  CNN spent a LOT of money on the venue and never looked back, because they knew it would be successful, but even so, the degree of the success surprised them.

We'll see how the numbers stack up after last night's Democratic "debate," also hosted by CNN.  I watched the first half hour and walked away because it was entirely predictable with climate change, rich against poor, LGBT rights, gun control, and recycling.  They attempted to touch on foreign affairs but it was totally hollow and without substance.  It was bizarre watching a bunch of rich white people choke down tears as they spoke in stammering gasps about the plight of poor blacks, and there was no one black to be seen.  Remember Ben Carson at the Reagan Library debate?

The orchestrated cheering for Hillary was transparent.  It only takes about one person out of 15 scattered around the crowd to shout at key moments and the rest of the audience like lemmings joins in.  They have this down to a science.

There is nothing new about this; almost all American presidents have come from the rich and failed to "represent the average working man."  Heck, by some historians' measurements, George Washington was the richest of them all!

Every now and then you get a working man as president--Jimmy Carter was a farmer and Harry Truman was a haberdasher--but obviously, this is no indication of success as a president.

Did anyone see the Nov. 7th show?  I missed it.  I was looking for re-runs but I guess they don't usually do that with SNL.
