sorry this thread was so short.. distracted
so yeh, people (even @ Fox) are getting on Trump's case bc he wants a 25% tariff on steel and a 10% tariff on aluminum
They say it will increase costs in business that use steel
As far as I know, no one has brought up this thought I have:
In time, with US steel and alum makers doing better (because of reduced competition from overseas) the price of US steel will go down, won't it?
The steel industry in the US does not appear to be doing well. Soemthing has to be done. And I love the way Trump puts the US interests first. I think a lot of people who are against the tariffs are against it just bc of their own profit concerns... God knows, but i doubt the cost of business and the cost to consumers of these tariffs is going to break anyone...
Americans can be real wimps... don't want to sacrifice for others much. Oh, I am not in the steel business, so... wahhhhhhhhhhhhh... i might have to pay 1 Cent more for some canned peas!
OMG!
