  • Men in balaclavas packing automatic rifles and wearing camouflage, bullet-proof vests and combat boots marched into the Kentucky capitol in Frankfort Friday, driving out terrified visitors.
The men were gun rights activists and members of the group “We Are KY Gun Owners,” staging a Second Amendment rally proving they have a right to appear to be a paramilitary operation in the open-carry state. They were allowed by security to step around the capitol’s metal detectors.
“We can’t just whittle away one little piece here, one little piece there,” Calen Studler told the Louisville Courier Journal, referring to gun rights. “Then the [Constitution] doesn’t mean what it says anymore.”
Twitter critics, wondering how America would react if the men were Muslim, responded as expected:

How do you know it isn’t leftists paid by Soros to pretend to be gun rights activists and feed the narrative that gun people are unhinged?  If I were Soros, that’s exactly what I’d do.
Out of curiosity, who did you vote for in 2016 Poche?  And who will you be voting for this year?

  • They sound like manly men to me, especially if they carry arms and refrain from using them unless the innocent need defending.  Personally, I consider a man who knows how and when to use a weapon admirable.

I voted for a third party candidate.
I don't know who I will vote for because we don't know who all will be the final choices yet.

I could understand doing that in a non-swing state.  But not in a swing state.  No room for third party votes in a swing state.

  • As long as their faces are not concealed (I'd say lose the balaclavas, or at least pull them down so that the entire face is exposed), I have no problem with what they did.  As the Black Panthers did in California, they lawfully exercised their 2nd Amendment rights.

I am somewhat familiar with Frankfort, Kentucky from decades ago, had a good friend who hailed from there.  It is just a sleepy, quiet, sedate little town in the Kentucky bluegrass hills, pleasant enough place, totally unaccustomed to demonstrations such as this.  I would imagine that more than a few people totally lost their s***. :clown:

In Georgia it is illegal to wear masks like that in public.

Many years ago I watched the gubernatorial debate on TV. They had the republican, democrat, and libertarian. Later on I was talking to someone after the election. This lady said that in her opinion the libertarian made the most sense. She said, "No, I didn't want to waste my vote."
I say that if you don't vote for the candidate who makes the most sense to you then you have wasted your vote.

Just out of curiosity, what do they do in Georgia about Muslim women wearing burqas?

  • Interesting that I haven't seen any of this on any of the national news broadcasts.  Something tells me that this is either from a parody site or the report is complete hyperbole.

I don't know. I have never seen any Muslim women wearing burqas.
