We Catholics,should not be republican, democrat,liberal, conservative or socialist.
We are called to be under the Social Reign of Jesus Christ.

The Church did not, per se, condemn being a part of a party. You should not either. But, parties can change, and they have changed since Vatican II. Condemnation is on a case-by-case basis. As well, one can be not a member of the Republican Party, yet still can possibly vote Republican if the case may warrant it.

Poland has Catholic People party.

Parties in USA have changed.  Catholics including clergy are becoming more and more liberal.  Legalized abortion and same sex marriage exists because of Catholics.  The bishops publicly promoted sin on television. Bravo.  

They have gαy friendly parishes and now shrines.   Liberalism equals sin.
