  • I think if the secret society in question is plotting the demise of said society (country), then by all means, it should be banned. Freedom does not mean you can attack your own country (without dire consequences, charges of treason)

Some secret societies are and have been for years trying to destroy the Catholic Church. If it were not for the Catholic vote, we would not have Trump as president... and I could mention a few other things but the point is that to destroy the Catholic Church (weaken it... it will never be utterly destroyed... as per Mt 1618

to destroy the Catholic Church (weaken it) is to destroy (weaken) the USA.

  • "secret society" could be interpreted as "people who go to confession"

  • YouThe Masons are evil and they are on all levels of government.  The sad part is now most Catholics (even traditional Catholics) are Masons.  They consider themselves supreme and place Mason membership above God and the Holy Sacrament of Marriage. If you are a Mason, then you aren't a Christian.
May God bless you and keep you

  • It seems to me it would be impossible to ban secret societies in America.
    .
For example, if such a law were passed and approved by the President, the Freemasons could simply deny that they are a secret society, even though they have used that term in the past; they could say they had been imprecise previously and that was a mistake.

This is exactly what would happen in the United States.

This is impossible.  It's possible that people who claim to be Catholic are Masons, but they have left the Church the moment they go through the initiation.

    is 2 a society?
dont think so. But a person's sins are no one's business, really. and no one would confess if they knew the whole world would find out about it which is why the Church stopped doing public confessions centuries ago

i dont know about the initiation but at one level you are required to RENOUNCE Christ (Christianity)
