A district court in Tatarstan, Russia, has banned 136 porn sites in a ruling that implies all Internet porn is against Russian law.

The court ordered Roskomnadzor, Russia’s federal executive body responsible for overseeing the media, to immediately blacklist 136 porn sites, according to Russian newspaper Izvestia.

The prosecutor used search engine “Yandex” and entered the words “prostitutes in Kazan” (Tatarstan’s capital) and “porn” to form the list of the sites that would be blocked.

The ruling refers to the Agreement for the Repression of Obscene Publications, signed in Paris in 1910 and the International Convention for the Suppression of the Circulation of and Traffic in Obscene Publications, signed in Geneva in 1923.

This news comes in the wake of an announcement by Roskomnadzor which banned Internet memes that “discredit honor, dignity and the business reputation of public figures.” Essentially, Russia declared an end to all Putin memes in their country.

Russia isn’t the only country where pornography is illegal. It’s illegal in countries including much of Northern Africa and the Middle East. An anti-pornography campaign in China launched in December 2009, which shut down more than 60,000 websites and deleted more than 350 million pornographic articles, pictures and videos. Papua New Guinea banned “Fifty Shades of Grey” due to its sɛҳuąƖ content.

Pornography and, er, memes, aren’t the only vices that Russia is cracking down on. In 2011, Russia signed a bill that officially classified beer as alcohol, allowing it to be more strictly regulated. Beer had previously been classified as food.

America and the entire world should do the same. Pornography has truly become a most revolting plague. It should be illegal and prohibited in all its forms, but no, instead, they use the card of "freedom" and nice words like that to camouflage true evil.

This is a good video about how pornography and sɛҳuąƖ liberation are used in order to destabilize society and control people. It is not the first time that happens. The same was happening in Berlin at the beginning of XX century, of course back then, they did not have the massive media outlets we have nowadays that allows them to reach so many souls instantaneously.

Thanks for that video, Cantarella. I entirely agree with your comments, too.

I believe all involved in the production and distribution of porn should be executed, too; just as abortion should be illegal, and all people involved in the procedure of killing the baby should be executed.
