The Russian Supreme Court has declared the Jehovah’s Witnesses an extremist organization and ordered the confiscation of its property—prompting criticism from the secretary-general of the Catholic bishops’ conference.
“Churches like ours don’t recognize the Jehovah’s Witnesses as Christian and don’t engage in dialogue with them, but we must distinguish theological issues from legal rights,” Msgr. Igor Kovalevsky said of the decision, which outlawed the sect.
He added, “There are very strong misgivings among Catholics that we, too, may be facing, if not persecution, then at least new acts of discrimination and limits on our freedom of belief.”

I have no problem that Russia banning the Jehovah Witnesses and I say it is a smart move.  After all they are a
false religion and they hate the Catholic Religion.
I have the Jehovah Witnesses come to my door trying to convert me.  The best way to rid them is that I will say that
I am a practicing Roman Catholic and that they are on the road to hell if they continue in their false religion.
Poche, you need to put your Catholic Religion ahead of any false religion. No one on CI takes your ecuмenicalism
seriously.
i don't totally agree
but LOL about how you deal w/ JWs. I have been in a few discussions w/ them. I didn't get the feeling they hate Cahtolics but I'm sure some do. The Assemblies of G folks are the real anti-Catholics and SDAs! that's been my experience anyway. I don't necessarily think it was a smart move for Russia to ban JWs. Next it will be Catholics, assuming that hasn't already pretty much happened

They came to my house one time. However they left very quickly when they found out that I had no money to give them.

Police in Kazakhstan raided two Baptist churches on Easter Sunday, fining worshippers and having them sign a form stating they were attending an illegal meeting.
Kazakhstan recognizes religious bodies that have registered with the state, but the nation’s Baptists have refused to seek registration.
The Asian nation of 18.4 million is 70% Muslim, 26% Christian (primarily Russian Orthodox), and 3% atheist.

The JWs should be locked up in a Russian jail and then deported to wherever they came from.
