Sure, I pray God has mercy on him.  I can't say R.I.P, because that's a phrase reserved for the faithful departed.

I do believe he was likely just controlled opposition, though, another paid actor.  He did a good job of it, but I doubt he was any true conservative.

It is my custom each morning to pray and beg God to have mercy on all the souls in the world that will die this day, (since He knows who they will be)  therefore I have hope God gave Rush and others who passed a last chance of His saving grace. 
 
I did not know that R.I.P. was only for the known faithful; we learn something every day. 
I admit I did not pay much attention to his shows either.

I don't wish him any harm, but I haven't been a big fan of his since I was 17 and quite ignorant about world politics. If high schoolers and other newbies got something out of his shows, then great. But as an informed adult, I didn't find his shows useful anymore.

Same here. I liked him and all, but he was as much in it for the show as for being conservative. I listened to him briefly off and on a few decades ago but like you, I personally did not find much use in it.  
I said an eternal rest for him.
