  • This is One Atrocity Rep. John Lewis Isn’t Willing to Be Arrested to Stop
Jeffery Myers February 22, 2017 Commentary 1 Comment

Who is this class of African-American “leaders” who insists that the pathway forward for the Black Family is through a Planned Parenthood abortion-murder facility? Who is this class of Black politicians who see social injustice and inequality everywhere except in the abortion murder facilities operating in their political districts?
Who are these delinquent Black elites who champion ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ, “transgender,” and same-sex “rights” at a time when the African-American family unit disintegrates due to the absence of fathers?
Who are these Black leaders who enthusiastically pat themselves on the back after a march or sit-in for immigration reform, gun control, or “climate change,” yet are unwilling to simply STAND in defense of the vulnerable and defenseless preborn members of their community?
Who are these hypocritical African-American elites, professors, actors, celebrities, personalities, rappers, “mega-”preachers, and activists? They see “institutional racism,” “systemic oppression,” and now “micro-aggression” in everything and everyone, yet refuse to see the calculated, systematic, and industrial scale genocide underway against their kin and kind?
At the head of this class of turncoats sits Representative John Lewis. Mr. Lewis is a member of the U.S. House of Representatives. Since 1987, Lewis has represented Atlanta, Georgia’s 5th Congressional District. This district includes much of metro area Atlanta. According to the U.S. Census, African-Americans make up 31 percent of the population of the state of Georgia. However, according to statistics from Georgia Right to Life, Blacks account for more than 60 percent of all abortions.
Mr. Lewis is a ranking Democrat member of the powerful Ways and Means Committee. Ironically, he is also a member of the Subcommittee on Health. For decades Rep. John Lewis has dutifully barred the gate to numerous efforts to defund Planned Parenthood. The right to life is arguably THE most important and inalienable of all rights conveyed upon mankind by God. One would think that a “civil rights hero” such as John Lewis would know this. One would expect him to champion the right of a preborn child to live. Planned Parenthood and the abortion-murder industry should have no greater opponent than John Lewis. Not so. Perversely, in truth and fact, the pro-abortion industry has found in John Lewis a champion, one of it’s most obedient, stalwart, and reliable allies. Lewis’s voting record in Congress is not merely pro-choice or pro-abortion. John Lewis’s voting record is ANTI-LIFE! Rep. John Lewis and his life-long opposition to life, except his own, is a matter of full public record. Since 1997, John Lewis has voted in opposition to virtually EVERY pro-life measure.
    Here are just a few:
In July 2003, John Lewis voted against the “Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act (H.R. 760 ).” This bill would “place a national ban on the abortion method in which a living baby is partly delivered alive outside the mother’s body before being killed.” The five-member Democrat delegation from Georgia split on this vote with John Lewis being one of the three “Nay” votes. The measure passed the full House by a vote of 282 “Yea” to 139 “Nay” and 13 not voting.
In 2006, John Lewis voted against the “Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act (H.R. 6099) .” This measure would “require every abortionist to provide, whenever a woman seeks an abortion past 20 weeks after fertilization, a government-prepared brochure that explains that there is “substantial evidence” that her unborn child will experience pain during the abortion.“
In 2011, John Lewis voted against The Protect Life Act (H.R. 358). This measure was intended to “prohibit any ObamaCare program from paying for elective abortion or health plans that cover elective abortion, and it would increase legal protections for pro-life health care providers who do not wish to participate in providing abortions.“
In 2012, John Lewis voted against H.R. 3541, Ominously, Rep. John Lewis voted AGAINST The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (H.R. 3504). This measure would “enact an explicit requirement that a baby born alive during an abortion must be afforded “the same degree” of care that would apply ‘to any other child born alive at the same gestational age,’ including transportation to a hospital.“
Finally, in January of this year, John Lewis opposed The No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act (H.R. 7). This measure was would “establish a permanent, government-wide policy against funding abortions or health plans that cover abortions (except to save the life of the mother, or in cases of rape or incest).” The purpose of this bill was to prohibit federal funding of elective abortions.
Rep. Lewis is idolized as a social justice icon. The height of hypocrisy is a man who built his iconic image on social justice but willfully aids and abets the genocidal campaign of abortion against his people. Rep. John Lewis is willing to get arrested to stop atrocities thousands of miles away yet shows no interest in stopping the wholesale slaughter of Black babies in his community.
Among the Black politicians, Rep. John Lewis isn’t at the head of the class. He is truly in a class of his own.

  • Here is John Lewis's Political Philosophy according to the website OnTheIssues:

Holy Smokes! He was pretty left-wing don't ya think?  :laugh1:

  • Before I say this, let it be known that many black people are pro-life, and for a few of them --- I would guess in the single digit percentages (that is still a lot of people) --- this translates into voting for pro-life candidates at the ballot box.

However... for the many, for the most... I do have to note the irony of demanding that black lives matter to everyone, while unborn lives do not seem to matter to them.

    Anyone else notice this irony?

(And yes, black lives matter to me, I will not return evil with evil.)

  • Look, it doesn't matter that he walked on a bridge and gave a speech during the Civil Rights Era, because he was not a hero for "civil rights". Not at all.

If you're not protecting the most defenseless in our society when you consider the abhorrently high black abortion rates, you are not a hero for "civil rights". Not at all.

In fact, being as vehemently anti-life as he was is regressing the already disjointed Black American family.
