  • Putin urges world leaders to stop persecution of Christians:

    Quote

Vladimir Putin has urged the world’s political leaders to stop the violent persecutions against Christians that have erupted in many Middle Eastern countries.

Speaking at a meeting with Orthodox Christian leaders in Moscow last week, the Russian President said he noted “with alarm” that “in many of the world’s regions, especially in the Middle East and in North Africa inter-confessional tensions are mounting, and the rights of religious minorities are infringed, including Christians and Orthodox Christians.”

“This pressing problem should be a subject of close attention for the entire international community,” Putin said. “It is especially important today to make efforts to prevent intercultural and interreligious conflicts, which are fraught with the most serious upheavals.”

Putin praised the growth of cooperation between the Orthodox Churches and the Russian state, saying, “We act as genuine partners and colleagues to solve the most pressing domestic and international tasks, to implement joint initiatives for the benefit of our country and people.”

The Russian Federation recently passed legislation making it illegal to promote ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity as normal, a move that, while condemned by many European leaders, was strongly supported by the Orthodox Church.

Putin added Thursday that the Church was giving Russians a moral compass when so many were looking for help. “Today when people are once again searching for moral support, millions of our compatriots see it in religion,” he said. “They trust the wise, pastoral word of the Russian Orthodox Church.”

He added that it was the Church that was ultimately responsible for the development and rise of “culture and education” in Russia over the last 1,000 years. “The adoption of Christianity became a turning point in the fate of our fatherland, made it an inseparable part of the Christian civilization and helped it turn into one of the largest world powers,” Putin said.

The head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, said at the same meeting that the attempts to push Christians out of Syria would lead to a “civilization catastrophe.” Kirill and other Orthodox leaders have been critical of the lack of response to the crisis facing Christians in the Middle East by US and other Western leaders.

The meeting was held with the leaders of all 15 Orthodox Churches to commemorate the 1,025th anniversary of the “Baptism of Russia” – the official adoption of Christianity and establishment of the Russian Orthodox Church in Kievan Rus by Prince Vladimir in 988 A.D.

Orthodox leaders at the meeting also condemned the growing secularist suppression of Christian freedoms in non-Muslim countries like Britain, where “gαy marriage” has just been created.

Metropolitan Hilarion, the Russian Orthodox Church’s chief ecuмenical officer, said “secularization in disguise of democratization” is leading Western nations toward totalitarianism. He spoke of a “powerful energy today [that] strives to finally break with Christianity, which controlled its totalitarian impulses during 17 centuries.”

Metropolitan Hilarion said, “Eventually, it unconsciously strives to set up an absolute dictatorship that demands total control over each member of society. Don’t we move to it when ‘for the sake of security’ we agree to obligatory electronic passports, dactyloscopy [fingerprint identification] for everyone, and photo cameras occurring everywhere?”

He highlighted the attempt to create same-sex “marriage” in France, which he called an attempt to make “immorality normal,” saying, that the French government has “consciously and demonstratively ignored demands of people and used tear gas to disperse them.”

Later, at a reception in Kiev, Putin and Patriarch Kirill took part in a prayer service with Ukrainian leader Viktor Yanukovych. He urged the leaders of Ukraine to turn towards a greater unity with Russia, and away from its overtures to the European Union, citing a natural cultural and spiritual relationship that is not present with the heavily secularist EU.

Patriarch Kirill added that it is the Orthodox religion that creates genuine unity between Slavic peoples. “Our ancestors adopted the Christian faith and, together with it, a system of values and morals…that no historical upheavals were able to destroy,” he said. Russians, Ukrainians, and Belarusians have a shared spiritual foundation that unites them more than their national boundaries divide them.

Patriarch Kirill said of the same-sex “marriage” fad sweeping the Western world, “This is a very dangerous apocalyptic symptom, and we must do everything so that sin is never validated by the laws of the state in the lands of Holy Rus, because this would mean that the people are starting on the path of self-destruction.”

     :applause:

Intermission before the remainder of the article, which is Canada whining that Russia is intolerant.

Just want to point out that Putin and Russia are concerned about Christian persecutions, and aren't scared to make it KNOWN that they're aware of what's happening in the world with the gαy agenda. Sometimes I feel we really don't have a spokesperson (esp. since the SSPX hushed ++Williamson) with Mr. Happy here:

He seems more concerned with ethereal problems which Our Lord said would never be solved, and pushing a Marxist agenda to solve that intractable problem, than with using his office to point out and shut down Christian persecutions.

Of course, Bergoglio's the one BXVI almost laicized after Regensberg, because Bergoglio feared BXVI had hurt the Muslims feelings, so we shouldn't be too surprised he's not taking a stand for Christians, or even making a comment, much less doing anything to stop the nonsense of normalization of "gαy marriage" and anti-Christian sentiments. Putin IS saying something. And that says something to me, when Putin is standing against the world with the RO/EO and saying sodomy is sin, and that it's leading to a totalitarian world bent on persecuting Christians, and that Russia would NOT be part of that.

    Quote

Today, Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird, blasted the Russian government for its law banning gαy propaganda, calling it “hateful.”  :devil2:

Baird said that the Canadian delegation was among those governments that tried to dissuade the Russian leadership not to adopt the law that outlaws all attempts to normalize ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity or other forms of non-traditional sɛҳuąƖity, especially to children.

“This mean-spirited and hateful law will affect all Russians 365 days of the year, every year. It is an incitement to intolerance, which breeds hate. And intolerance and hate breed violence,” Baird told the Canadian Press today.

The comments follow an announcement by Russia’s sports minister, Vitaly Mutko, who said the law would be enforced against athletes and visitors to Russia during next year’s winter Olympic games.

    I added the devil.

But what does Canada mean, they don't want Russia to outlaw laws which attempt to normalize ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity or other forms of non-traditional sɛҳuąƖity, especially to children??? Is he saying the world wants to be able to TELL children it's okay to be a Sodomite, or that children should be on the receiving end of Sodomites? Sounds dastardly to me.

  • PS: the Pope pic is around the same time as Putin's statements (within days). I just found it TELLING that while the Pope's out having fun at WYD hedonist activity and offering up a strange offering of beach equipment on an altar, Putin is addressing a real problem and making a stand against the sodomites.

The world is on its head.

    I missed that, what happened?

I must confess, I don't watch the Olympics. (But I do love the "In Soviet Russia" memes: "In Soviet Russia, laws breaks YOU!" &c).

  • Russia has a law that you cannot promote ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity.

They said during the Olympics they would enforce it.

    Outrage ensued.

Russia caved. Apparently athletes from around the world will be free to nance and mince around Russia glorifying their sins that cry out to Heaven.

Not exactly, they can't go outside of the Olympic village nancing and prancing about anyway. And they're still forbidden to openly propagandize ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖity in anyway, especially around children. But the queers can't go about being offensively lewd in public like they do in the West with impunity.

It's not exactly caving, but sort of letting the queers in through the back door (no pun intended..well sort of) but keeping them in check and cutting off all the fag boycotts or any other reason for the queer-friendly MSM to cause them any other kind of revenue-losing tactics in the name of "tolerance".

Anyway, if the homos act up now afer this, the Russians will hold the moral high ground (not that they don't already) when they have to enforce their "anti-gαy" laws on the books.

    It's the smart move actually.

  • Oh, thanks for that. Yes, but I think things are a little different now. This morning, I heard on CNN that Russia is fining Lady Gaga and Madonna for work visa violations (CNN said it was really about Russia being "anti-gαy", but because the country is using "visa violations", I think they mean to stand by it and keep the propagandists OUT. We'll see how it works out. Here's an OLD ARTICLE on HuffPo about it; pretty much every news service has a diffferent spin on the issue. CNN also has a new story about Russia going after another American band for using the Russian flag to wipe his butt while in Russia this past weekend, then saying "don't tell Putin."

LOL, I hope Russia asks for an extradition (after the Snowden fiasco)  :smoke-pot:

DELETED! It was an old story; sorry!

CNN was trying to make a joke of Russia and Russians (and anyone who didn't jump on the Sodomite highway to Hell) this morning, but Russia seems to definitely be declaring itself AGAINST bullies of "anti-Russia" forces. (Earlier this summer, it was "no Muslim propaganda", but this "no gαy propaganda" thing has hit the Western "news" sources where it hurts so it's got traction.)

I can't imagine Russia caving after these posturings. They must be getting lots of popular support either in-house, or from their neighbors. —Or maybe God has a hand in it. Why not? God's not much welcome in Rome anymore from what I could tell, and at least the state (Russia) isn't scared to use God's Name when defending their positions.

I guess we'll find out one way or the other soon enough! I was surprised Putin gave Snowden asylum against intense pressure from the U.S. Actually, I was surprised Putin stepped in to protect Syria from U.S. involvement. —Russia's just been surprising me left and right lately.

  •  Putin knows that America is weak and on the way out. He knows this is what you get when you let a lot of тαℓмυdic Jєωs, ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs and feminists run your nation as well as the grand idiot in charge with the clown Obama.

I've seen a lot of squawking by the U.S. against Russia lately when it comes to issues like Snowden and Syria that have come to no avail. Putin just sits back ansd smirks at how pathetic we've become, why would he listen to a bunch of panty-waists getting all up in arms about issues they can really do nothing about to begin with?

The U.S. is really screwed if they commit to Syria militarily, they can't afford it, the people don't want it and frankly they couldn't even subdue the Afghans entirely and now they would dare to go in against the Syrians backed right next door to a newly, robust, nationalistic Russia? It would be ѕυιcιdє and Putin knows it.

Snowden gave Obama and the U.S, a huge black eye while the rest of the world got a good chuckle out of it and no one laughed harder than those men over in the Kremlin while they gave Snowden a free pass into the country while the American clowns in D.C. could nothing about it. And Putin knows it.

Putin's a mans'man and I don't mean the  "gαy" kind and this ex-KGB man is more than a match for the Women-men that run the West these days.

  • GAH! I got the old article edited out, but knew I didn't have time to post the new one, so I just deleted old news when I realized that was from December. —Stupid Google News throwing up OLD stories when there are PLENTY of NEW stories up.

    :really-mad2:

Anyway, here's a today article (down at the bottom of Google News search, smh.) From ABC News. Good: cleaner site than HuffPo anyway.
