Are you for real???Pence is an ex-Catholic  and current evanjellyfish besides being a creepy toady and a traitor. Plus his wife is Karen who lives up to her name.

As I said, "extreme-cafeteria-Catholic".  To my knowledge, he has never formally left the Catholic Church, though he worships as a Protestant.  If I had to guess, if you asked him if he is a Catholic, he would say something like "yes, I am a Catholic, but I am first and foremost a Christian, and I do not recognize divisions between those who profess Christ as personal Lord and Savior".  Is he a formal heretic, or is he just a poorly catechized specimen of his generation, who "just doesn't get it" as regards the One True Catholic Church?  Did he have a priest to tell him, as I did (we are about the same age), that you may (or even must) follow your conscience "no matter what" --- even if your "conscience" tells you that you may worship with Protestants, and for all practical purposes, to become a Protestant even though you are still nominally a Catholic?  I don't know.

Well, does everyone that "defects" get the same privilege? He does not claim to be a Catholic and he ascribes to one of the many flavors of protestant heresy.

PS- His best friend is Jeff Flake. That alone should raise some eyebrows.

I don't know what he claims to be.  If I had to guess, he'd probably just answer "I'm a Christian". 

I probably won't be, but if I'm ever talking to him, I'll ask him.  I say that more seriously than in jest.

(I did have the opportunity to meet Bernie Sanders one time, community meeting, but I forgot about it, and by the time I remembered, it was too late.  I had a lot going on and I simply forgot to go.  I wanted to go simply for civic awareness and engagement, not to embrace his politics.  I did hear Abbie Hoffman speak one time at my university, sat about ten feet from him, didn't get to talk to him.  The guy was actually pretty funny!)

Yes, I know all about him.  It was a free lecture and I didn't want to miss it.  I didn't even begin to agree with his radical leftism, to tell the truth, I just wanted to be able to say that, in my youth, I had been in the same room with Abbie Hoffman and had heard him speak.
