  • I have read somewhere in some doubtful  but not impossible sources that Padre Pio said that Mussolini was going to Heaven after some years in purgatory and that he later in life sincerely converted and died as a catholic. Im not sure if it was he who also said Mussolini was sent by God to save Italy from chaos. Does anyone know if this is actually true, I know Mussolini protected the church and catholicism in general, he fought communism very hard and he didnt implement racial laws until the nαzιs demanded him some Jєωs in 1940 if I am not mistaken.

  • We have to be careful with so-called Padre Pio quotations or stories.  Over the years, an incredible amount of nonsense has been falsely attributed to him.  So, if such a quote exists, it would have to be verified against a real, credible source.

  • Mussolini was in an adulterous relationship with another woman in addition to his wife. He could very well be in Purgatory. Tha tis why we pray for the poor souls in Purgatory.

  • I don't know about the quote, but Mussolini was sympathetic to the Catholic Church. He banned the M.A.F.I.A. and Fɾҽҽmαsσɳɾყ, which went underground or to America. He was assasinated by (communist) partisans and his body and that of his mistress Petacci were strung up in Piazza Loreto, where they were desecrated by the crowd. They only lasted one day alive in the hands of the partisans. DId he have repent? I don't know but he did have good warning of his impending death, so there is a good chance that he did.

May their souls rest in peace.
Help of Christians, guard our land from assault or inward stain,

  • Modern saints like Padre Pio are like celebrities hounded for their signature. Any huckster who wants their special locutions rubber stamped, they know where to go, what to do, and who to sell it to.

  • Some tell that Mussolini later in life when in control of the Italian's Social Republic talked with Cardinal Ildefonso Schuster often and eventually repented and died a catholic.

It is also said that In the 1950s, Donna Rachele (Mussolini's wife) had a dream that his husband was saved and she went to visit Padre Pio to ask him: "What about my husband? Did he save his soul?"

St Padre Pio: "Did he not tell you in a dream? Stand up, pious woman, and go in perfect peace. Your husband is safe, think of saving yourself."

Then there is this letter which appeared in an italian newspaper of correspondence between Mussolini and st. Padre Pio which Mussolini confessed that his wife made him comeback to the faith

There is even a book by ennio innocenti called "La conversione religiosa de Benito Mussolini" (The religious conversion of Benito Mussolini) only avaliable in italian, I have never read it, should be good to read.

  • There is also a correspondence between Sister Elena Aiello to the Duce and Sister Aiello to the Duce's sister

This letter was delivered on MAY 6, 1940 to the Duce's sister, Donna Edvige who handed it to Mussolini.
To the Head of the Government, Benito Mussolini

    Duce:

I come to you in God’s Name to tell you what God has revealed to me and what He wants from you. I was hesitating to write, but yesterday, April 22, the Lord appeared to me again, and bid me to tell you what follows:

“The world is going to ruin because of its many sins, particularly the sins of impurity, which have presently exceeded the very limits before the Justice of My Heavenly father. Therefore, you shall suffer and shall become an atoning victim for the world, especially for Italy where My Vicar on earth resides. My Kingdom is a Kingdom of peace: whereas the whole world is entangled in war. The Nations’ Rulers are bent on acquiring new possessions: Poor fools! They don’t knowthat, when there is no God, there is no victory either. Their hearts are filled with wickedness. Allthey do is to outrage, ridicule and despise Me. They are like devils sowing dissension, subvertingpeople and seeking to drive into the sinful scourge of war even Italy, where God is pleased withmany souls, and where My Vicar on earth, the Pastor Angelicas, resides. France, so dear to MyHeart, shall soon fall to ruin on account of her many sins, and shall be overthrown and ravagedlike the ungrateful Jerusalem. I sent Benito Mussolini to preserve Italy from the precipicebecause of My Vicar on earth: otherwise, by now, she would be worse off than Russia”.

“I have always shielded him from many dangers. He must now keep Italy out of war, because Italy is a civilized country and it is the dwelling place of My Vicar on earth. If he is willing to do this, he shall receive many favors and I shall make all Nations respect him. But since he has made up his mind to go to war, tell him that, if he doesn’t prevent it, he will be punished by My Divine Justice”.

It is the Lord who has told me all this. Please, Duce, do not think for a moment that I am interested in politics. I am just an ordinary Nun looking after the welfare of abandoned littlegirls, and I am earnestly praying for your safety as well as the safety of our country.

    Respectfully,

    Sister Elena Aiello

Rest of the correspondence here on source, I didnt copy everything, it is in Italian but its easy to translate in the internet
