It seems the Ds are on one side of... well, "things" and the Rs are on the opposite. The Rs are far more open-minded than the Ds but sometimes Rs are pretty closed minded also. It seems that both parties do not understand the problems of lower-income people. The Ds just ant to throw $$ at those people and then forget them (until election day). The Rs just seem to want to forget them, w/o throwing $$ at them first... Neither option, obviously, is productive.
We need to get over this notion that some people, by having wealth and prestige and etc... are better than those who do not have those things. Those who do not have them are NOT always "lazy and irresponsible." It is more complicated than that and I am frankly getting sick and tired of the rich people judging the poor, writing them off as lazy, stupid, etc... Writng people off gets you off the hook as to doing anything to help them, really help them (meaning: not just throwing $$ at them, some govt program... ) But guess what? In the eyes of God, you are NOT relieved of your responsibility toward your fellow man. People need to get involved and make the world better. Of course, the USA has aborted about 55 million human beings, at least one of which (I am sure) could have come up with the best idea how to solve the poverty problem...
abortion, btw, is the primary issue to indicate just how sick we are. They are the poorest of the poor (the unborn). They have absolutely nothing... which is why they are "hated by all" as Jesus said... (yes, He was speaking primarily of "religious" persecution, but just the same...
