Obama's Devotion to the Virgin Mary: Who Knew?
Somehow this slipped past the Disputations filter, but during her vacation in Spain in August, First Lady Michelle Obama revealed that her husband -- a.k.a. President Obama -- "always carries a picture of Mary Help of Christians in his wallet."
Mary Help of Christians is the patroness of the Salesian order of priests and nuns, and during an Aug. 13 visit to the Spanish city of Ronda with her daughter, Sasha, the first lady stopped at the Salesian community there.
According to the Salesian news service, she told the priest in charge that her husband "always carries with him a photograph with an image of Mary Help of Christians, to whom, those present reported, the first family of the United States has great devotion."
Virgin Mary, President ObamaFor Catholics, the special prayer to Jesus through his mother Mary for divine aid is about as, well, Catholic as you can get (evidence of a particular supplication to the Virgin dates back to the 3rd century, according to some sources). It is also more evidence for my colleague Jeff Weiss's theory that Obama is actually a closet Catholic and not a crypto-Muslim, as many believe.
But Obama's Marian devotion could resonate even more deeply, as the prayer to Mary Help of Christians is associated with two of the greatest battles in history between Christendom and Islam, both victories by papal forces.
The Virgin Mary was first formally given the title of "Help of Christians" by Pope Pius V after the dramatic naval victory over the Turkish forces at the Battle of Lepanto in 1571. Then in 1683, the forces of Christendom beat back the 200,000 Ottoman Turks from the gates of Vienna. During the fighting, Emperor Leopold I of Austria took refuge in the Shrine of Mary Help of Christians at Pasau.
Many view those clashes as prequels to today's war between the West and radical Islam. The Blessed Virgin Mary to the rescue again?

I met a man who was arrested twice by a Catholic high school for protesting lack of veterans benifits. He was wearing a grim reaper outfit and was holding an antiwar sign across the street from the school. I just found out today this man is 88 years old.

I read or heard that Obama is superstitious. I'm willing to bet that his "dovotion" to Our Lady is just him covering all bets. That would also explain his covering the religious articles. No way one can actually be devoted to Our Lady and promote abortion. Can't happen.

while we maintain hope that the BVM does indeed convert him, I think Obama, like many before him, is a forshadow to the Man of Sin, in that he is a chameleon, something for everyone...stay tuned, next he wil lbe found to have a Jєωιѕн relative somewhere...

Muslims have a "sort" of respect for Our Lady, it says so in the Koran. However if you have read the book,
"True Devotion" it explains the difference between a devotion and a True devotion.

However, Obama/Satoro isnt a Muslim, he's a Communist. You cant be both. He's not even a Muslim in name when you consider all his religious "practices". Since he's not a Muslim, then he's not going to have the least respect for Our Lady, let alone a Catholic devotion to her.

Not strictly communist eitehr, he is a chamelon....for he has supproted in votes,speech,etc some private property rights and private enterprise....more Plutocrat....an odd mix of socialist/communist, big govt,etc....also, he does not outright declare for atheism, which is a pillar of Marx, who said that religion was the "opiate of the people", a drug...

Im well aware of that. But I think that one of the few major differences in Capitalism and Communism is their stage of development and the zealotry of their followers philosophy. Capitalism is early Communism in which things are done incrementally, and Communism is the end product fueled by mindless radicalism. What convinces me of this is the paradigm of 1945 with Russian Communism on the left and American Capitalists on the right who were and are both in the same Masonic camp. America and Russia had excellent relations until the staged Cold War, and there was hardly any philosophical contest between the two until then.
