Pat Buchanon apparently thinks that only our allies, not we ourselves (USA) have an interest in siding with the Kurds against Turkey (although I am not sure Kurds are against Turkey..) on the Syrian border. I guess the US is considering sending a considerable number off troops there. Well, unless I hear something that forces me to change my views or reconsider them, I am not against that. ISIS has not been 100% annihilated. And I have great sympathy for the Kurds.

I am open to listening to other facts, assuming they are that, and not opinions or prejudices.

Generally speaking, I feel it is morally unacceptable for Americans to live in a free, more/less safe, prosperous, more/less democratic and free nation, yet turn their backs on others in the world who do not have that..

That seems to be the very definition of selfishness.. and unethical. But worse, it seems to me that not taking  these kinds of military actions could endanger not only our allies but the US as well.

vis a vis our “interest” or lack thereof in a certain problem or conflict overseas.. well, admittedly such terms can be subjective... but at this point, I am focused on.. how hideous ISIS is..

  • Cathlics get a bad reputation when they allow their minds to become mush

by not keeping up on current affairs.

I get the feeling something like 80% of people at this forum do NOT care about what is going on in this world. And yet what is going on definitely is relevant to Christianity. For example, a lot of Christians in the middle east are being persecuted

Thank God Trump almost demolished ISIS, something the last president strangely didn't seem inclined to do, to say the least

But we still need to pray for our brethren over there... and do whatever else we (Congress) can to help them
