My thoughts on the tax bill
I am SO happy (yes downright HAPPY) that the obamacare mandate has been abolished! Finally!
Time to celebrate.
As to other parts of it:
I don’t think there should be property tax breaks for homes that are $750,000! $200,000? Maybe.. Sorry, but I don't feel sorry for people who have far more money than they need—not when there are many homeless and otherwise destitute people in this country, some of whom actually DO want to work (yet there are no jobs available in their area and/or other serious problems).
I was disappointed about the corporate tax rate.. I agree w/ Trump, that it should be 15% (not 21%). Maybe next time?
When business does well (assuming said business is legal/ethical), we all do well (well... almost all).
Also, I think companies should be given tax breaks for being located in or near rural areas where there are few job opportunities.
I am unclear whether there is a tax incentive in the bill for companies to come back from overseas? I would think so. I think they should get some kind of tax break to cover the costs of moving back to the US, like no taxes for a year or something
I am glad the child tax credit is doubled.
Rubio wants it to be an even bigger deduction. We are below zero population growth in the US, so yeh.. we need to encourage people to have children (not only for the sake of the population crisis of course) and not punish them in any way. However, I don't think Rubio should oppose the bill. He (they) can work on raising the child tax credit later.
