If it isn't too much trouble, Matthew, the words "Sounds Evil" might be better removed from the thread title.

    .
The context of his quote implies that this Christmas time we have a new king. As in, a replacement for the old. It implies that Trump is the new savior.

Over two millennia ago, a new hope was born into the world,= Jesus

a Savior who would offer the promise of salvation to all mankind.= Jesus

this Christmas heralds a time to celebrate the good news of a new King.= Not Jesus (implicitly Trump)= Evil

Are you under some kind of delusion that you're contributing something worthwhile?

You may not think that the fact that Trump's future Chief of Staff has called him the New King in comparison to the Real King of Christmas is worthwhile but others may think it a worthwhile topic. There are conservatives out there that worship Trump and might be surprised to know that those closest to him look at him as if he is a savior.
If it's not worthwhile to you then don't comment.
Matthew 15:9 And in vain do they worship me, teaching doctrines and commandments of men.

Firstly if you quote you should give a reference or source.

Maybe if you would have said "can we have a source please?" I would have given one without incident. Instead, you made your arrogant post so I responded likewise. Also, I didn't know it was a rule. There are many posts made without references.

Second, we know that we use a pronoun to refer to the immediately preceding noun. In this case there is no immediately preceding noun. Then  yet another pronoun of which there is no immediately preceding noun. We have no idea what he is talking about because of this paucity of English expression.
Then he arrogantly implies that I can't "google" and you should "keep you (sic) mouth shut".

The point of the post was to just put the quote out there. It was quick and I didn't think it was that hard to understand, especially if one were to look up the quote. Again, I didn't know about your rule nor that you would read it.

This is a classical example of the falling standards of the English language, which comes with the demise of true religion. It is especially sad to see it on CathInfo.

Can you post a reference to the study of the link between the falling standards of the English language and the demise of the true religion?

Here's an idea, why don't you respond to the quote or did you just show up to fight with me?

No, Christ is the new King and we commemorate this event every Christmas.

Priebus is simply reminding us of it.

You are simply confused because he said "this Christmas" instead of simply Christmas.

That's why I said it sounds evil. It can definitely be construed to mean Trump. That's why there was outrage about it. I'm not confused because he said this Christmas and then A new king, not the new King.
If he didn't mean that Trump is the new king then that's good. He said as much.
I take what politicians say with a grain of salt. We'll see what happens in the years to come.

Just think, if the witch had won, do you think any one of her new Cabinet would have dared to say anything CLOSE to this????

We have been granted A REPRIEVE in this presidential election, the magnitude of which is yet to be seen; but in the interim, we need only pause to consider how CLOSE we all came to the literal END of America as we know it.

God has granted us a second chance, which is an enormous blessing.

We ought to INCREASE our prayers for God's grace and thank Him for this miracle.

I totally agree w/ this. I worked hard to get people educated about Hillary so thye would vote for Trump. I do have reservations about him but so far, they are not terribly SERIOUS reservations. Time will tell if my anxieties about certain things were justified. I am not thrilled about Tillerson, who is CEO of Exxon Mobile which supports (or  did?) Planned Parenthood!!!

I hope this man has repented, as it seems Trump has. I know Trump has repented of being pro abortion. But that doesn't mean he has gotten his cabinet to follow suit..
