  • He should not have apologized for stating a truth.

    That said, the best apology I have ever heard was the one by Calif. State Senator Ross Johnson.  At a rally he called his opponent a political whore. His opponent called a press conference demanding an apology, so Johnson announced a press conference to apologize.

    "I am sorry he is a political whore."
