  • The pro-abort State legislatures and Governors like Cuomo in NY have already prepared for the overturning of Roe by inserting the absolute right to abortion in their state legislation. If they think it's a possibility, then it's a possibility. I think Roe will be overturned and it will go back to the states.
I don't put a lot of faith in errant "prophecies", but I have a recollection from a long time back, attributed to our Lady, that only 13 states would outlaw abortion after Roe. I don't remember anything else about it. A lot of people say a lot of things, I know, but it always stuck with me for some reason. Wish I could remember where I heard it.

Cheers! I recommend two drinks: Guinness Extra Stout with a Jagermeister shot for a chaser.
Beer at 33 and Jager at 29 deg. F. (I'd have the beer colder but it might freeze then it's no good.)
    .
In another thread, E. Michael Jones points out that 2 days ago, Oct. 4th, none of the MSM venues bothered to mention that Kavanaugh had MOVED OUT OF COMMITTEE. Which is the last step before confirmation. His case moved out of committee and all the news outlets ignored the fact. He says that after confirmation, the Liberals (Feinstein, a Jєω, is one of the worst enemies of the truth) are going to get all the more vicious against Trump, hoping to derail his support base in anticipation of the November elections because now they're facing a LONG TERM loss of the Executive branch, both houses of Congress and the Judicial branch: absolutely intolerable. (for them)
    .
I think I'll have ANOTHER BEER!

And while you enjoy your beer, the democrats will have their pity party and pacifiers.

We need to pray for them.

    Lord have mercy.

  • I'll believe it when I see it.
There's no guarantee of anything.  Unfortunately, there is a high probability that Kavanaugh will, now that he is confirmed, be more concerned with what is written about him in the liberal history books than with the Constitution.  How many "conservatives" get into high office (whether in secular or Church government) and then change their views and, in the words of the left, "grow"?  How many turn their backs on what got them in office in order to curry favor with the media?
People such as John McCain come to mind.  After all, everyone seemed to "know" that Obamacare would be overturned because of the appointment of Chief Justice Roberts.  I seem to remember other justices appointed that were going to overturn the Left's laws--only to have them confirmed as Constitutional rights.

  • I don't think there is any way that Kavanaugh's reputation can be "redeemed" in the left's eyes, as they have intentionally branded him for life as the worst  kind of toxic. I think Kavanaugh's eyes were totally opened by this, and hopefully he won't be so congenial across moral and philosophical lines. He's seen the devil and he ain't pretty. Hoping for another Clarence Thomas. It's not about making friends anymore.

Exactly why I don't have the high hopes that some here have.  I've had my hopes dashed way too many times...especially with respect to Roe v Wade.  Twenty years ago I might be where they are, but not so much anymore.

Just imagine the libtard meltdown if Judge Kavanaugh is welcomed to the sound of a band playing the Canadian National Anthem.

There's an awful lot of material online regarding how Canada is all for giving "hugs" instead of punishing sociopaths and sodomites.

Canada has become far more socialist/Marxist thanks to a young twit of a prime minister and immigration from wrong countries. Thankfully there are signs that things are moving to the right again.Still there are soooo many libtards, enviro-tree hugging fascists, the whole perversity kabal, and snow-flakes (not the white stuff I see yet again this morning, and off to the Rockies goeth I with my brother and nephew shortly. Hoohah for thermal hot springs though) to keep one busying praying hard, and of course polishing gun barrels. Hee hee! :cowboy:
As for national hymns though, what is weird about Canada's is that there are two versions, one English and one french, and the lyrics are quite different. Me, I whistle Dixie, sing the Bonnie Blue, belt out the Polish national anthem and maybe God save (a Catholic!) king!
    And maybe....
Big white polar bears, Snow white polar bears uber alles in der Kirch! ::) ;) ;D

To this day Clarence Thomas remains tarnished by the Anita Hill nonsense.

And I also agree.  I think that he's going to be another one of these "Why did he appoint him?" types of guys.  I hope to be proven wrong, but I've gotten pretty skeptical about these so-called "conservative" justices.  Better than someone Hillary would have appointed?  No doubt.  But that's a pretty low bar.

  • Well, this is something good and hopefully it should be enough for incremental pro-life bans to begin working in individual states. Later on, a national abortion ban should be passed in the house and senate. That will depend on winning big in November.

I would have preferred pro-life Catholics William Pryor and Amy Barrett to Gorsuch and Kavanaugh. But Gorsuch and Kavanaugh will probably allow state laws against abortion to stand and slowly undermine Roe v Wade. And we can take it from there.

I think we would agree abortion should be outlawed in every circuмstance and the Court in fact should determine and state that the right to life of the unborn person is constitutionally protected as inalienable. These baby steps move the court closer in that direction.

It will take some time still, but with a lot of prayer and effort, by God's grace, we should get there in the end. Thanks be to God for this and kudos to President Trump and the pro-life conservatives in the senate for fighting the good fight to the end, and winning.
"We wish also to make amends for the insults to which Your Vicar on earth and Your Priests are everywhere subjected [above all by schismatic sedevacantists - Nishant Xavier], for the profanation, by conscious neglect or Terrible Acts of Sacrilege, of the very Sacrament of Your Divine Love; and lastly for the Public Crimes of Nations who resist the Rights and The Teaching Authority of the Church which You have founded." - Act of Reparation to the Sacred Heart of Lord Jesus.

  • Toss-Up States Shift Red After Kavanaugh
    churchmilitant.com/news/article/toss-up-states-shift-red-after-kavanaugh
    News: US News
    by Stephen Wynne  •  ChurchMilitant.com  •  October 9, 2018
Anger over Senate 'circus' propels key Republican candidates forward

WASHINGTON (ChurchMilitant.com) - Four weeks before the 2018 midterm elections, key battleground states are shifting red in the wake of Democrats' attempt to scuttle Judge Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Since the vote to end debate on Kavanaugh's nomination last Friday, polls show multiple Republican candidates pulling ahead of their Democrat rivals, suggesting that California Sen. Dianne Feinstein's attempt to weaponize Christine Blasey Ford has backfired.
Talk of a "blue wave" has quieted, as a broad-based November victory is no longer assured.

Before their persecution of Brett Kavanaugh, Democrats were positioned to retake the House of Representatives and hand the speaker's gavel once again to Congresswoman Nancy Peℓσѕι (Calif.).
To control the House, a party needs to win at least 218 out of 435 seats. Previously, Democrats were favored to win 206 House races; Republicans had a lock on 189; while 40 contests were judged to be toss-ups.
But as of today, Democrats are favored to win 205 House races; Republicans are projected to win 198; and the number of toss-ups has fallen precipitously, to 32.
In politics, much can happen in four weeks, but for now, invigorated Republicans are relishing the post-Kavanaugh trend.
The Democrats still maintain an advantage — to recapture the House, they need to win 13 of the 32 toss-up races, while Republicans have to win 20 to maintain control.
Still, the trend is significant: nine toss-up seats have shifted into the GOP column, and one "safe" Democratic seat now leans Republican. Every former toss-up has now moved to favoring Republicans.
In the Senate, the story is the same, with all movement favoring Republicans.
Prior to the battle over Kavanaugh, Republicans were expected to win 47 seats and the Democrats 44, with nine seats considered toss-ups. Ominously for the Republicans, some toss-ups were trending toward the Democrat column.
But today, two toss-ups are now favoring Republican candidates; the result is the GOP tally has increased to 49; the Democrats remain at 44; while just seven toss-ups remain. As things stand now, to win control of the Senate, Democrats would have to win six of the seven contests.
    Indiana Democrat, Sen. Joe Donnelly
Anger at Kavanaugh's treatment by the political Left and their allies in the media has galvanized voters.
"I've got women in my church who were not politically active at all who were incensed with this," recounted Melody Potter, chairwoman of the West Virginia Republican Party, before the Senate's final confirmation vote last Saturday. In his fight for re-election, Sen. Joe Manchin proved sensitive to his constituents' anger, becoming the only Democrat to vote in favor of Kavanaugh's confirmation.
"People in Indiana are angry. They are mad. They are changing their mind," noted Jodi Smith, state director of pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List.
Ahead of the final vote, Sen. Joe Donnelly — a vulnerable Indiana Democrat vying for reelection in November — announced he would vote against Kavanaugh. This "started a firestorm of epic proportions," Smith said. She described Donnelly's decision to follow Sen. Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) instead of his own constituents as "one of the best things that could happen to us," pointing out it may imperil Donnelly's bid to return to Washington.
In politics, much can happen in four weeks, but for now, invigorated Republicans are relishing the post-Kavanaugh trend.
