I think if you publish government secrets you should expect to be prosecuted.

I think Julian Assange deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for journalism. He has risked everything to inform the people of the world about  the complete (demonic) criminality of "government'. Criminals are not covered by "national security". Error has no rights.

Then why hasn't the New York Times owners and editors been prosecuted.  They keep saying that publishing government secrets cannot be prosecuted because of "freedom of the press".  Only the "sources", i.e., those who steal the information and pass it on to the press can be prosecuted.  This is a double-standard.

I'm not sure I agree. One is hacking, one is -- well, something else
But once again, we do not see the evidence. Assange is innocent until proven guilty. It is not always easy believing what the media tell us. Even conservative media tell us pretty much waht they want to tell us and avoid telling us what they do not like.
