  • Another idea. When a new regime replaces Zelensky, remand Joe, Jill, James, and Hunter to the Ukraine for bribery and obstructing justice under Ukrainian law.

  • Sequoia's Shaun Maguire: "Absolute Shit Bag" Hunter Biden Owes His Family $300k In Back Rent

    by Tyler Durden

    Monday, Dec 02, 2024 - 06:10 AM

Sequoia partner Shaun Maguire posted on X, claiming that Hunter Biden owes his family $300,000 in back rent for a Venice, California, home. Maguire shared this information just hours after President Biden pardoned his son for crimes spanning 11 years. He then questioned whether Hunter, now pardoned, is still obligated to repay the debt.
"So what happens to the $300k+ in back pay rent that Hunter Biden owes my family from 2019-2020? Is that pardoned now? Thanks Joe," Maguire wrote on X late Sunday night.

X user Autism Capital asked Maguire to explain more...

Maguire called Hunter an "Absolute shit bag" for skipping out on a year of rent at his family's Venice home. Rent, according to Maguire, was $25,000 a month.

    This is wild!

    LoL.

"Indeed, he tried to pay w/ a book of art made from his own feces. But those aren't worth anything except when money laundering," Maguire continued.

    Wow.

In a separate X post, Maguire commented on the pardon.

X users pointed out to Maguire that the pardon doesn't cover civil claims.

Hunter's indictment on tax fraud revealed his business dealings over the years.

2018 was a boom year for Hunter.

    And this...

Good luck trying to recover money from Hunter.

  • "Corrupt To The Core": Dems In Disarray Over Hunter Pardon As 'Rule Of Law' Narrative Implodes

    by Tyler Durden

    Monday, Dec 02, 2024 - 08:30 AM

Absolute chaos has broken out on the left following Joe Biden's blanket pardon of his son Hunter - which spans the period right before Hunter joined the board of Ukrainian energy giant Burisma (for $1M/year), through yesterday evening.

It was also revealed that months of denying this would happen were pure lies, as the pardon had been in the works for months.
In short, it couldn't be any more obvious that Hunter was simply the Biden family bag-man. As X user @therealZNO notes:

    Quote
In 2013-2014, the United States orchestrated a violent coup that toppled Ukraine’s democratically elected government, which led to the ousting of President Yanukovych.
    Events that followed:
    > April 16, 2014: VP Biden meets with Devon Archer at the White House.
    > April 21, 2014: VP Biden visits Ukraine and becomes U.S. policy face.
    > April 22, 2014: Archer joins Burisma’s board.
    > April 28, 2014: British officials seized $23M from Burisma’s owner.
    > May 12, 2014: Hunter Biden joins Burisma’s board, and both were paid millions.
In 2019, an investigation revealed that the Obama administration knew Hunter Biden’s position on Burisma’s board was problematic and interfered with U.S. policy in Ukraine.
The investigation also uncovered approved transactions involving the Obama administration which allowed a Chinese government-owned company and an investment firm with Chinese ties to acquire Henniges, a U.S. military technology firm—Bohai Harvest RST (BHR)—linked to Hunter Biden and Chris Heinz.
This is barely the tip of the iceberg.

And while the right is saying 'I told you so, assholes...', the left, and never-Trump 'conservatives' alike, are having an internal meltdown over Hunter's pardon. Many are opining that this sets a devastating precedent in that Trump can essentially pardon anyone he wants. Others are defending the pardon - suggesting that the incoming Trump administration would go after Hunter (You mean, for the obvious family corruption?).

Former Obama AG Eric Holder defended the pardon, suggesting that Hunter didn't really do anything all that bad (and Mike Cernovich with a killer response).

The Never-Trump conservatives over at The Bulwark defended the pardon (while their CEO said the opposite on X).

    These people are unbelievable!

The bottom line is that Democrats have lied through the last four years with impunity (as tends to happen).

Or as X user @BucMon21 puts it, the Biden family is "Corrupt to the core." (and that doesn't even cover Beau Biden keeping a DuPont heir out of prison for raping his own toddler).

And of course, The View is defending Hunter:

At least the Breakfast Club came correct:

    Extreme Virtue (signaling)
During the 2024 election the Democrats ran their campaign on two narrative pillars - First, the idea that progressives are the guardians of "democracy" in the face of some conservative conspiracy to undermine the will of the people.  Second, that they are the party with respect for the rule of law while conservatives are lawless barbarians.  Both narratives were utter nonsense and the opposite is generally true, but this kind of rhetorical spin is not really meant to convince the people that oppose Democrats. Rather, it's meant to convince their devout electoral base and keep those lemmings in line with the message.
The claim that Democrats are the anointed purveyors of democracy has been thoroughly debunked after Donald Trump won the presidency with the electoral college and the popular vote.  In light of this fact, leftist commentators and the media have decided that the loss was not due to their own failings, but the fault of "stupid voters" that just don't understand how important the progressive ideology is. Truly, these are the kinds of people that respect the democratic process...

The second claim, that Democrats are models of civic duty with a deep regard for the rule of law, was largely based on a Trump vs Biden legal woes comparison.  The political left argued that Joe's handling of his son Hunter Biden's federal charges and degenerate lifestyle was fair and just because he had not abused his position as president to get his family out of trouble.  This was specifically mentioned in reference to Trump's intention to pardon J6 prisoners.
Biden, they said, would never exploit the presidency to protect convicted criminals for personal gain, even if one of those criminals was his own son.  He's just too honorable.

Leap ahead a few months and suddenly all those same Dems are silent, or, they are defending the blanket pardon Biden just pushed forward for Hunter.  As a reminder, let's take a look back at the self righteous Democrat finger wagging and self delusion that led up to this embarrassing moment:

Set aside the fact that the Biden Administration actively weaponized the legal apparatus to take down a political opponent using fabricated charges - The reality that Joe Biden gave his son a pardon that reaches all the way back to 2014 indicates a personal knowledge of Hunter's criminal dealings over the course of a decade.  Likely, this knowledge comes from Joe Biden's involvement in those same dealings.  At the very least he used his position within government to trade for benefits and used his son as a proxy.

It's very hard now for Democrats to pretend like they're the party of legal integrity.  When it comes down to progressive leaders or their family actually facing consequences for their actions, the law goes straight out the window.
And of course, Jim Biden's pardon is coming next:

  • Special Counsel Rejects Hunter Biden's Pardon, Files Scathing Rebuke In Court Case

    by Tyler Durden

    Monday, Dec 02, 2024 - 02:36 PM

Last night Hunter Biden's lawyers filed a motion to dismiss his California tax fraud case after Joe Biden issued a blanket pardon absolving him of all crimes committed over a 10 year period.

"The President’s pardon moots Mr. Biden’s pending and yet to occur sentencing and entry of judgment in this case and requires an automatic dismissal of the Indictment with prejudice," wrote Hunter's lawyer Abbe Lowell in the filing, adding that "this Court must dismiss the Indictment against Mr. Biden with prejudice and adjourn all future proceedings in this matter."
Special Counsel David Weiss isn't having it. In a Monday response in opposition, Weiss argued that "The defendant’s motion should be denied since there is no binding authority on this Court which requires dismissal."
"As a matter of past-practice in this district, courts do not dismiss indictments when pardons are granted," Weiss wrote - citing cases involving Steve Bannon, Michael Flynn, Joe Arpaio and Ollie North, Above the Law reports. "Instead, it has been the practice of this court that once an Executive Grant of Clemency has been filed on the docket, the docket is marked closed, the disposition entry is updated to reflect the executive grant of clemency, and no further action is taken by the Court."

    Quote
Although Weiss purported not to have seen the pardon itself (which Lowell inexplicably failed to docket), he took particular umbrage at the suggestion that the prosecution was politically motivated, huffing that “The court similarly found [Biden’s] vindictive prosecution claims unmoored from any evidence or even a coherent theory as to vindictiveness.”
Judge Mark Scarsi of the Central District of California has taken no action, thus far. But in Delaware, Judge Maryellen Noreika said in a minute order that she intends to terminate the proceedings, and instructing the government to say by tomorrow if it objects to termination by dismissal. Presumably it does, although no objection has hit the docket as of this writing. -Above the Law
Hunter pleaded guilty to the tax charges earlier this year, after a Delaware jury found him guilty of lying about his drug use on a background check form used to purchase a firearm.
In Weiss' new filing, he writes:
"The defendant did not docket the pardon nor has the government seen it. If media reports are accurate, the Government does not challenge that the defendant has been the recipient of an act of mercy. But that does not mean the grand jury’s decision to charge him, based on a finding of probable cause, should be wiped away as if it never occurred. It also does not mean that his charges should be wiped away because the defendant falsely claimed that the charges were the result of some improper motive. No court has agreed with the defendant on these baseless claims, and his request to dismiss the indictment finds no support in the law or the practice of this district."

  • 96.9% of Americans Charged with Hunter Biden’s Gun Crimes Get Jail Time

In the run-up to the 2024 Presidential election, President Joe Biden vowed not to use his presidential authority to pardon his son, Hunter Biden. He has doubled down multiple times through states and his press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, but now he has backtracked and pardoned his son, who was convicted of lying on an ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) Form 4473 and was accused of tax evasion.
Hunter Biden was arrested and successfully prosecuted for lying on an ATF Form 4473 that he filled out when he purchased a revolver from a Delaware gun shop. The firearm was recovered from a dumpster after his lover and dead brother’s wife disposed of it. When Hunter purchased the handgun, he was an addicted user of crack cocaine. Hunter would mark that he was not an unlawful user of drugs on the form.
After being charged, the younger Biden was offered a sweetheart deal not in line with those provided to others accused of lying on the government form. The judge rejected that deal, sending the case to a jury trial. He would be convicted on all charges and was waiting for sentencing. Even after the felony conviction, his father would maintain that there was no chance that he would pardon his son.
Hunter Biden was also facing charges of tax evasion. He allegedly hid large sums of money from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Hunter has always blamed his tax issues on his addictions. There have also been accusations of Hunter selling access to his father when Joe Biden was Vice President. Critics claim that the President’s son made millions from the scheme, leading some on the Republican side of the aisle to refer to the family as the “Biden Crime Family.”
Late Sunday night, President Joe Biden would break his promise not to use his presidential power to pardon his son. He claimed that the Democrat-run Department of Justice (DOJ) targeted his son for political reasons. He claimed his son did nothing wrong when lying on the 4473 because there wasn’t a victim. President Biden said almost no one is charged with lying on a 4473. Quick research shows that several hundred people each year are charged with lying on the ATF gun purchase form.

    Quote
The President wrote: “Today, I signed a pardon for my son Hunter. From the day I took office, I said I would not interfere with the Justice Department’s decision-making, and I kept my word even as I have watched my son being selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted. Without aggravating factors like use in a crime, multiple purchases, or buying a weapon as a straw purchaser, people are almost never brought to trial on felony charges solely for how they filled out a gun form. Those who were late paying their taxes because of serious addictions, but paid them back subsequently with interest and penalties, are typically given non-criminal resolutions. It is clear that Hunter was treated differently.”
The DOJ issued a press release in January of last year stating that it is “aggressively pursuing those who lie in connection with firearms transactions.” The ATF and the DOJ are taking a hard line on those who lie when purchasing a firearm. The press release included examples of Americans charged and convicted of the same crime as Hunter Biden. Many wonder if President Biden will pardon these Americans as well.
    Quote
United States Attorney Robert J. “Bob” Troester wrote: “Federal law prohibits knowingly making any false statement in connection with purchasing, or attempting to purchase, a firearm. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) requires prospective firearm buyers to complete ATF Form 4473. This Form requires buyers to answer several questions, including those about the buyer’s competency, criminal history, drug use, immigration status, and history with domestic violence. Applicants who knowingly make false statements may also face criminal prosecution for a felony and up to 10 years in federal prison.”

The ATF even had an operation that included going after people lying on a 4473. “Project Safe Neighborhoods” was a nationwide effort to catch and prosecute those lying on a 4473. The ATF and the DOJ disagree with the President’s accusation that lying on a 4473 isn’t a big deal. According to both agencies, the crimes are serious, and the government should be pursuing the violators with all available resources.

    Quote
“Keeping guns out of the hands of those who shouldn’t have them is of paramount concern,” said U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester. “We will use the tools available to us to pursue those who use a straw purchaser or lie when trying to buy a gun. We will continue to work closely with ATF and our law enforcement partners to prevent guns from falling into the wrong hands by holding accountable those who lie to get them.”
President Biden also insists that his son’s alleged tax evasion should be forgiven because of his addiction to crack cocaine at the time the crime was committed. Many will point out that the U.S. prison system is full of people who commit crimes because of their addictions. This contradiction causes many to think that President Biden is acting hypocritical by pardoning his son, not just for going back on his promise but for his push to prosecute aggressively those citizens who commit similar crimes. Others claim this is an example of a two-tiered justice system where the rich and powerful can commit crimes with impunity, even though Biden has stated many times in the past that “no one is above the law.”
Hunter Biden issued a statement on the pardon after it was made public by the White House. He blamed politics for his convictions. Hunter said he would dedicate his life to helping people who are “sick and suffering.” He thanked his family for supporting him through his trials.
    Quote
Hunter Biden’s Statement: “I have admitted and taken responsibility for my mistakes during the darkest days of my addiction — mistakes that have been exploited to publicly humiliate and shame me and my family for political sport. Despite all of this, I have maintained my sobriety for more than five years because of my deep faith and the unwavering love and support of my family and friends. In the throes of addiction, I squandered many opportunities and advantages. In recovery we can be given the opportunity to make amends where possible and rebuild our lives if we never take for granted the mercy that we have been afforded. I will never take the clemency I have been given today for granted and will devote the life I have rebuilt to helping those who are still sick and suffering.”
Hunter Biden’s legal team has filed motions with the courts in both cases to have them dismissed because of the pardon.

  • Not sure how true this is, but I'm now hearing talk of Biden thinking of doing "preemptive" pardons to keep certain people safe from the incoming administration. I'm pretty sure this is something that no outgoing President has ever done.
