Hey, I'm sorry Belloc- I am very ignorant of what Buchannon writes and does in politics, and can't speak about his hypocrisy.

I am not informed in politics enough to have an opinion of his work.  There is nobody, not a single politician, movie star, or celebrity=type who is the White Knight.

I want to then apologize:
-apologize for putting an article up that a close friend of his wrote about him
-sorry I critcized him at all, my critcisms were not of his soul or the fact he likely is indeed a "nice guy"
-apologize that I attacked the notion that many Catholcis put Pat on a pedastal-no, did not say Pat put Pat that, he did not, but he is qouted as a hero and his words near-Gospel by many Conservativea nd Tra Catholics
-sorry this burred under SJB bonnet-he does not post and reply this much to most other forums and topics here, so have to beleive he is truly upset...


Hence for, when Pat shows in his writings and his comments to be 2-faced and hypocritical I pledge to:
-pretend the hypocrisy did not happen
-blame myself as the messenger if for some reason, I lose all control of reason and dare mention it.
-will blame myself anyway for anything Pat does,says,etc.
-will follow his advice to support Neocon wars, torture and supporting any Republican running for office.
-will take the reversing of the arguement-ie, that my ciritcisms are somehow my fault and my blame....I will not again address the lack of others addressing the actual article and points raised i said article.

Now, have I done enough public penance for attacking ____??

Belloc, like I said, I don't really care if you are critical of PJB, SP, GWB or whoever else you want to include. I explained what I meant and you have continued to play the victim and put words into my mouth. If anybody has a bee in their bonnet, it is you.

Funny, I didn't hide you. Now you should understand that I don't care if you are critical of Buchanan or Palin. I don't think they are saviors or anything close to it. I just don't think they are devils. You seem to be of the stripe that can't see anything good in anyone who doesn't hold to your exact principles, whatever those might be.

I have no problem with somebody arguing that they simply cannot vote when the choices are what they are today. Remember that until society returns to Christian principles, which starts with ourselves, which means personal sanctification, there will be no restoration of any even remotely Christian political order. That does not exclude us from the political process, however, especially on a more local level.

He is also a political commentator and will often tell the GOP what they need to do to win (be truly conservative) and warn them of traps. Then he laments the GOP when they act Neo-Con and he points out how stupid they are.

I think if you read Pat's column regularly you'll see he is far from a GOP hack. He is consistent in attacking the W/ Neo-Con disaster and the disaster overseas in their wars.

He has backed Bush in 2004, called conservatives to come home to GOP and now that he is not the star of the 3rd party movement, he largely beleives in the GOP.Guy talks out of both sides of mouth......I used to read him until I saw that for all his complaining and crabbing, he will nto actually do anything-just tells us all to keep backing the GOP, a losers sinking ship......he called Peroutka in 2004 a Buchananite, then urged people to vote for Bush, hence I guess, he could not support himself in a sense.....Peroutka was shocked, esp since his campaign wa largely based on Buchanans in the past, even had Buchanans media man, Lofton, on his team.

Guess, again, the starling Pat triumphs, he gets to act as oppositon, sell some stuff and then he continues to get Trad Catholics to keep backing him, though he is 2-faced....he is slicker than Willy.....

but, as noted in my last post on this trhread, done with this if Trads want to keep being blind and blindly supporting his 2-faced stances, fine......

I put in my two cents to say that I believe Belloc has quite a better take on Buchanan.  The Catechism taught, you can't reject a part of Truth, without rejecting it whole and entire.

On my own, quite a long time ago, I thought B was not trustworthy, because of the flip-flops he made in his career.  I figure he is a garden-variety POLITICAN, first and above all else.

If you haven't been to Droleskey's site, you might try looking up the material he had put on under the head, 'The Fraud of Voting".  (I tried to find that allocution of Pius?? online, but didn't succeed.)  I wouldn't bother with D's site anymore, because it's mostly the same thing over and over.
