Homegrown Hamas Terrorist Criticizes Cruz over Monitoring Islamists
By: Daniel Horowitz | March 22, 2016

The Islamic threat to our country is not in Syria. It is in our own streets and communities, thanks to years of suicidal immigration policies and allowing the Muslim Brotherhood to operate freely and radicalize those Muslims already living here. Ted Cruz has raised awareness to this reality. While the foreign policy establishment is focusing exclusively on ISIS and boots on the ground in Syria, Cruz called for beefed up security in Muslim neighborhoods to prevent the festering of radicalization similar to what we are seeing in Molenbeek, Belgium.

“Our European allies are now seeing what comes of a toxic mix of migrants who have been infiltrated by terrorists and isolated, radical Muslim neighborhoods,” observed Cruz. “We need to immediately halt the flow of refugees from countries with a significant al Qaida or ISIS presence. We need to empower law enforcement to patrol and secure Muslim neighborhoods before they become radicalized.”

What Cruz is suggesting here is pure common sense. We’ve witnessed daily arrests of Muslims living in America, even under Obama’s FBI. For the most part, Islamic terrorists operate inside neighborhoods that are hospitable to their beliefs, as witnessed by the endless arrests in enclaves in Brooklyn, New York and Minneapolis. It’s not that everyone who lives in these neighborhoods hate America, but too many of them have bought into the subversive ideology that cultivates the climate of terrorism.

In what could only be described as an exercise in self-parody, the media is now attacking Cruz for being mean to Muslims and anti-democratic. They are trotting out individuals who have proven ties to terror to criticize Cruz’s remarks! Here is one example from The Hill:

Quote
Nihad Awad, the executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), warned that Cruz’s plan is ‘unconstitutional, un-American and dangerous.’
‘It’s shocking that a leading presidential candidate in our nation in 2016 would suggest monitoring a section of our American society just because of its religious faith,’ Awad told The Hill on Tuesday. ‘He claims in his speeches to defend religious liberty, but he seems to be fake when it comes to this.’

It’s a shame this Hill reporter didn’t bother to google “Nihad Awad” and “Hamas.” This CAIR leader was caught on FBI wiretaps at a meeting in Philadelphia in 1993 plotting money transfers to Hamas with fellow Islamists. He was caught on tape the following year declaring in public, “I am in support of the Hamas movement.”  This is a man who should be tried for treason instead of being afforded a platform to serve as the fox guarding the hen house.

Awad is proving Cruz’s point about the need for increased security and surveillance among those reasonably suspected of engaging in terrorist activities. This is basic police work. The same reason police don’t heavily patrol upscale Jєωιѕн neighborhoods for crack dealers, they don’t patrol Mormon areas for Islamic terror.

We need a president who will actually deal with the homegrown problem, even before engaging in protracted interventions overseas. And that begins with preventing known terrorists from serving as spokesmen or even surrogates for the Muslim community.
