GOP healthcare bill = bailouts for ins companies, according to Rand Paul

    I had a site to refer you to but lost it, will try again.

    McConnell tried to get a repeal-only bill passed but of course the fake Republicans, Murkowski (not sure of spelling) and others who voted for Repeal when the O-man was in office, now do not want to vote for the repeal! Huh? Get outa here!

    Here is how YOU can vote:

    vote Murkowsky (and Co.) OUT of office!!!

    They just want Obamacare or Obamacare Lite. They could not care less what is best for the American people. Rand Paul says that the current GOP bill is a huge bailout for big insurance companies. And I believe him. I have never liked the sounds of the Republican bill. He is totally right to call it Obamacare Lite.

    So who am I that you should validate this post by  considering what i have just said? Well, I have been following the healthcare issue for many yrs. I probably know more about it than anyone save those in Congress and maybe even then (which may not be saying much?). Again, just as there are very few who make it to Heaven, so there are very few in Congress who really care about SMALL government.

    We are inching our way to socialism. We see how socialism works in England, where the goveernemnt tried to tell that couple to take their child off life-support! And apparently they were supposed to have been kept from going to the US or anywhere else for treatment, but the US has a doctor (or doctors) who have had success in treating another child w/ the same disorder!

    • Rand seems to be, as true Christians are (not sure he calls himself that?) "hated by all" as Jesus promised we would be. I like the way he sticks to his principles regardless of whether DC likes it or not.
    What am I saying? He doesn't stick to "his" principles so much as: American principles. Anyhow---

    Contrast that w/ the Democrats who all stick together regardless of [just whatever]. That is herd mentality at its worst. They bore the crud out of me.. Is it bed-time already? :sleep:

    1. Most of the legislators represent states where many, many people rely on Medicaid and the ACA; a lot of rural constituencies are very, very impoverished. Alaska has a lot of very poor Native Americans and the opioid crisis in Rob Portman's state of Ohio is the worst in the country.

    2. No, they want the Affordable Care Act. There's a reason why they refused to support the GOP Bill. Obamacare is already a very fiscally conservative piece of legislation, anyway. Buying health care through a private market? That's classical liberal fiscal policy at its highest.

    4. The UK is not socialist. Neither is the NHS - millions of people in the United Kingdom and countries with so-called "socialized medicine" have private insurance because not everything is covered, otherwise. Most of these systems do not cover vision or dental care, for example.

    Socialism means that the government controls the means of production - which no functioning country has. All countries have private sector services.
