  • there are organizations and businesses that get wealthy by exploiting the poor. The example that first comes to mind for me is private apartment owners who do low-income housing and get a LOT of money from the governemtn. They get way over w waht an apartment is  worth and then do NOTHING to improve said apartment. So the poor have to d eal with sub-standard (IMO) housing while the rich landlords get more and more wealthy every month on the rent the poor (along w/ the govt) pay. They do only the minimum required to keep up with health and safety regs. The tenant can complain all he/she wants but there is virtually nothing they can do.

the Bible talks about this... somewhere in one of the b ooks of the Prophets (Old T)

Then in the New Testament, Jesus says we must (in order to get to Heaven and avoid Hell)

Love others as you love yourself

No wonder so few people get to Heaven (see the saints' writings AND Mt 7:13-21 anad Lk 13)

    Who does that?

Who loves others as much as self?

  • well, this is typical

    few care about the poor

but I told myself I would never forget them and the struggles they have which are myriad. Get a job? how can you do that when you either don't have a car or it is 30 years old and needs a timing belt or whatever and you can't rely on it to get you to  the job?

    and etcc...etc...
