With the frailty of advanced age and the lack of an elevator in her building, she has not left her apartment for the past eight years. Nurses visit several times a day, and a niece stops by frequently, she said.
Now at the end of her life, she feels the need to purge the memories by talking about her story.
"For decades, I tried to shake off those memories," she said. "But they always came back to haunt me at night."
It sounds like she could use a good priest and the Church right about now.
The story doesn't mention if she's Catholic. But she may be - at least baptized.
Memories return for a reason. A lot of people her age can't remember much
of anything, especially recent things. But the long term memory loss is most
devastating to the will to live. She has that to be thankful for.
We ought to pray for Margot Woelk. Pray for her conversion and for her to ask
to see a traditional Catholic priest.
Wouldn't it be something if she would ask to see Bishop Williamson!!
