    • But... but... but... I thought Europe was supposed to be "secular", beholden to no religion or ideology outside of itself.

    Hard to figure how their flag got to look the way it does (twelve golden stars on a field of blue, fascinating story), and even harder to understand why they haven't changed it by now:
