Democrats Want to Abolish ICE in 2020



If the Democrats win the 2020 election, there is a possibility that the far-left ideology of abolishing the agency that enforces our immigration laws may come to fruition. These radical liberals who have been putting extreme pressure on the Democrats to do away with ICE since don’t seem to find anything wrong with allowing illegals into the United States. Many of these illegals commit crimes and tax our systems including hospitals.
Liberal writers and commentators have been supporting abolishing ICE, thereby fueling the fire even more. ICE enforces US immigration laws by identifying, arresting and deporting illegal immigrants found within our borders. Brian Fallon, a former top aide for Hillary Clinton, along with Barak Obama, endorsed the idea of getting rid of ICE. Fallon tweeted, “ICE operates as an accountable deportation force.”
Those who find no issues with illegal immigrants should speak with the victims of crime committed by illegals, opined Thomas Homan, the acting director of ICE. Some Democrats do believe that the agency is needed and should, in fact, exist, including Senator Kamala hαɾɾιs (D-CA). hαɾɾιs, a potential 2020 candidate, stated that “ICE has a purpose, ICE has a role, ICE should exist.”
The issue has driven a wedge between Democrats who are still interested in actual governing, and their growing far-left base.
The Nation published an article about abolishing ICE calling the agency an “unbridled white-supremacist surveillance state,” and said ICE was unaccountable and participated in ethnic cleansing. Even those who are supposed to protect citizens and make their districts a better place to live seem to forget the vows they made to the people who live in their districts. While seemingly fringe, this position may be catching mainstream support.
Libby Schaaf, Oakland’s mayor, tipped the public off to an immigration raid that was to be held in the San Francisco Bay area. It is estimated that at least 800 illegal immigrants avoided capture after Schaaf warned the public that ICE would be doing a raid.
The problem with this is, some of these illegal immigrants have done more than cross the border illegally – they have committed crimes in the United States. Yet, liberals continue stating that ICE is a white-supremacist agency and have been calling for it to be dismantled without even thinking about the crimes that some illegal immigrants commit. Some have been deported and have re-entered the country several times, and have committed crimes when they’ve come back. Despite the fact that ICE is enforcing our immigration laws, the likes of Nancy Peℓσѕι call the agency “unjust and cruel.”
Just how cruel is it for an illegal immigrant to shoot your child for no reason? That’s something that Peℓσѕι hasn’t considered, probably because she hasn’t been affected by illegal immigrant crime.
Obviously, without ICE, and with open borders, anyone could come into the United States. Without the ability to check the background of the immigrants, you don’t know what you are opening yourself up for when it comes to random crimes including burglary, rape, murder and even misdemeanors.
Unchecked immigration places an undue burden on public resources — not just police who are forced to deal with more violent crime.
Prior to 2003, INS was responsible for immigration enforcement. In 2003, the Homeland Security Act created the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This entity used criminal and civil authorities to protect the national security. Those authorities made ICE a powerful federal law enforcement agency.
ICE was only one of three DHS agencies that dealt with the immigration system. The agency was created because of the increase in global threats and because those threats were more dangerous to the American people.
