The DNC is being criticized for running a "Hunger Games", mocking the idea of competing and thinning the herd. There were 24+ contenders! They can't have 2 separate rounds of debates forever, while a bunch of nobodies with 1% or less support get a chance to muddy the waters. They've wasted enough time with such nobodies. Let's see all the top contenders face off at the same time, on the same stage as each other.

That's the liberals for you. Any kind of competition is a battle royale, caged deathmatch or "Hunger Games". How do they expect to thin the field of contenders without forcefully disqualifying some of them? Do they expect them to drop out on their own? A few did. But many will go as far as they can -- they are spending Other Peoples Money after all. It's all to their benefit. They might get a cabinet post, or even the position of Vice President out of the deal. It's only going to benefit their political career the longer they can stay in the running. Plus they think they are shielded from prosecution, because it's bad optics for President Trump to prosecute "a rival", even if they have 0 chance of ever becoming president.

  • The Republican primary in 2016 eventually got up to 16 or 17 people, with a similar ragtag group of nobodies (save Ted Cruz who got close).

There needs to be a cap on how many people can run in a primary, especially in the next election where both parties are running someone new [like 2024/2028]. You can save money and not embarrass yourself on national TV!

You understand the point of my post, right?

The National Committees of each party can and should "euthanize" the presidential aspirations of the stubborn nobodies, so that the remaining, smaller number of contenders can participate in a meaningful debate, for example.

My point was that the Liberals are being snowflakes about it. As soon as you talk about competition, survival of the fittest, thinning the number of contenders, or declaring some definite losers in the race, the snowflake "everyone gets a participation trophy" Liberals get all bent out of shape.
"Competition? What is this, the Hunger Games? Why not just put them all in a deathmatch cage while you're at it!"
