    • I never could u/stand why Congresspersons were always so eager to get pork for their districts

    I mean, the only thing I ever u/stood was that they did so thinking they would get re-elected but... I'm thinking: why would a taxpayer re-elect someone who was good at finagling money out of DC for some probably not even needed (wasteful expenditure) project...

    I myself would be thinking: Get outa here already. We want DC to not even have their hand on the till in the first place (except for defense and NEEDED infrastructure)... The money for other things (studying shrimp on treadmills...) shouldn't even be there, shouldn't have been sent there... Too much power ($$) centered in one place...

    • Did you hear about the 450 million (I may be getting my bloated numbers mixed up but it was a lot... It always is)

     that was lost by the Dept of Education?

    they don't know where it is!

    and then there was a few BILLION (w/ a B) that was sent to Medicare people erroneously... I don't know the details about that one..

    but there is NO entity that follows the $$ these Departments get, so the money is just out there being wasted right and freaking left.
