It's possible, there's nothing in the scheme of things that prevents it. I would not be a bit surprised to see the Republican party split into pro-Trump and "never-Trump" parties.
This would, of course, benefit the Democrats like nothing else would. They do a masterful job of corralling together all the identity groups, all the intersectionalities, stoking grievances and guiding their adherents to make everyone else's grievances their own. Alinsky's ideas and Marxist "united front" tactics elevated to a science. As I always say, the good often have to work as solitary agents, but evil unites all of its adherents as one.
I have been somewhat heartened, in the wake of the just-ended election, to see that a larger percentage of blacks and Hispanics than one would expect, are breaking with the liberal-leftist "hive mind" and are voting more conservatively. So maybe there's some hope, as demographics continue to change.
