So, if we write an obituary for myself and publish it, will I receive an extra vote?
This is a typical bureaucratic mess up. In my home county, it’s common for the courts to send “Must Appear” jury summonses to highly unusual persons. Besides people long deceased, have been infants, children, people in group homes for the retarded, pets, and fictional characters people use for screen names. A woman once received a Must Appear notice for her husband who had been dead for several years. When she couldn’t get anywhere on the phone, she reported to court on the appointed day with his ashes in an urn. Back in the 1980s, a man rode a horse to court because the summons had the horse’s name on it!
