  • Former FBI Director Chris Wray Under Federal Investigation — Multiple Former Officials Hit with Subpoenas in Expanding ‘Wray Inquiry’: Report
    by Jim Hᴏft Oct. 9, 2025 6:00 pm194 Comments

Disgraced former FBI Director Christopher Wray is now the target of an expanding federal investigation, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal.
The inquiry reportedly involves multiple subpoenas issued to former senior officials in recent days.
The same report says former CIA Director John Brennan is also being investigated.

Brennan and Wray, both central figures in the intelligence establishment’s war against President Trump, are facing growing scrutiny for their roles in the politically motivated witch hunts that corrupted the highest levels of government.

    WSJ reported:

“Other prosecutors are investigating former CIA director John Brennan, another prominent Trump critic, and former FBI director Christopher Wray, who was originally appointed by Trump but enraged conservatives who came to believe he had wielded the bureau’s powers against them. Former officials have received subpoenas in recent days in the Wray inquiry, according to a person with direct knowledge of the matter.”
CNN previously reported that Wray is under a national security investigation for obstruction of justice, including efforts to obstruct the Durham investigation.
According to sources, sensitive docuмents were allegedly concealed within Wray’s personal office on the 7th floor of FBI Headquarters. These files were later placed into “burn bags” inside a restricted room, reportedly intended for destruction.

    CNN reported:

According to two people familiar with the investigation, the Western District of Virginia is leading the inquiry related to alleged destruction or mishandling of docuмents connected with the Durham special counsel investigation.
The investigation is looking at multiple potential subjects from the top leadership of the FBI from 2020 through 2024, at the time Wray was director.
Investigators have been seeking interviews in recent weeks and have spoken with staff who worked on the 7th floor of FBI headquarters during Wray’s tenure, where the leadership suite is, the sources said.

Multiple prosecutors are working on the investigation of the Wray-era FBI front office, which was of particular interest of now-FBI Director Kash Patel from his first months in the job. The investigation includes questions about docuмents that were stored in “burn bags,” which are often used to dispose of paper versions of classified records, the sources said.
The investigation appears to be intersecting as well with the recent declassification of part of the report written by former special counsel John Durham, who examined investigators who handled sensitive political investigations around Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in 2016, one of the sources said.
In August, the Oversight Project criminally referred Christopher Wray to the Department of Justice, citing false statements to Congress and obstruction of official proceedings.
The referral detailed two key incidents:

    • The FBI’s anti-Catholic “Richmond memo” scandal.
    • The FBI’s obstruction of an investigation into a Chinese mail-in voting scam allegedly linked to the 2020 election.
According to whistleblowers and declassified docuмents released by Sen. Chuck Grassley, the FBI blocked an investigation into claims that the Chinese Communist Party manufactured thousands of fake driver’s licenses and shipped them to the U.S. to facilitate fraudulent mail-in voting operations benefiting Joe Biden.
Wray lied under oath about both scandals, the mail-in voting cover-up and the Richmond memo.
The Richmond memo, exposed by whistleblower Kyle Seraphin, revealed that the FBI had targeted Traditional Catholics as potential domestic terrorists and discussed using priests and parish staff as “tripwires” to spy on religious communities.
Wray later called the memo “appalling” and claimed it was “immediately retracted,” a statement that congressional investigators have since proven false.
In yet another damning revelation, the FBI recently admitted that 274 plainclothes agents were embedded in the crowds during the events of January 6, 2021, hundreds more than previously disclosed.
This directly contradicts Wray’s sworn testimony before Congress, where he denied extensive FBI presence in the Capitol protest.
The Gateway Pundit has long docuмented dozens of inconsistencies in the FBI’s official narrative, now confirmed by this latest acknowledgment.
The walls are closing in on Chris Wray.

.It is reasonable to wonder if they had identified any such priests or staff sympathetic to the task.
